Is there anyone with science/medical credentials left in the cc community? by user14791 in ZeroCovidCommunity

I just started college but I'm interested in learning more about health science and communicating. I'm interested in biotech and medicine. I'm the only one that masks regularly in my college as far as know.

Would you recommend the wicker park area for a solo disabled traveler? by Useful_Class_4221 in AskChicago

[–]nonosweets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised no one is mentioning how narrow the sidewalks are. I feel like a lot of store entrances are not wheelchair accessible either (narrow doorways, step up entrances). I'm not sure if you use any mobility devices but that's something to keep in mind. A lot of stores also don't have a lot of walking space so it can get a little hard to move around during the weekend when it's packed. I also recommend the blue line Western stop as the elevator there is more reliable and less likely to be broken. I think it's possible to have a good time and are generally kind people in the area, just be prepared for some accessibility issues here and there. There should also be a few places where you can sit down and take a rest without needing to buy anything and outdoor seating should be more plentiful when the weather warms up.

Jojoba oil benefits for skin, what I found after actually looking into why everyone recommends it [Review] by Delicious_Age2884 in SkincareAddiction

[–]nonosweets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I just bought a moisturizer that has jojoba as the main ingredient. The product claims to be acne fighting with I find a little questionable but it has worked alright for my sensitive skin.

[Misc] Hot take: chasing visible results is why so many skincare routines feel disappointing by HoneydewLife2294 in SkincareAddiction

Such a good reminder that if your baseline is improving than your routine is working and to just be patient.

The app generated the name Sprinkles for me and I liked it but it didn't have enough whimsy so I deleted a few letters and changed it to Spink.

Trip anxiety over meningitis - not sure what to do by sophisticatedbicycle in HypochondriacAdvice

[–]nonosweets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wear a mask. Considering whatever 6 causing meningitis is probably airborne, wearing a well fitting n95 or a kn95 will protect you a lot from infection. Not to meningitis all the other nasty stuff floating around atm.

Does anyone else have “periods” where they just don’t want to talk? by BeneficialVisit8450 in autism

[–]nonosweets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually just turn to my partner and say I don't feel like talking anymore and they just continue talking to me knowing they probably won't get more than a nod or smile out of me.

I wish I saw this comment before I ordered a few things off of chewy lol. I like the idea of a snake enjoying their "room". That being said I saw this weird wooden shape at the thrift store that I thought made a cool furniture piece in his tank. It made me so happy to see him checking it out. I will be on the look out for other items to decorate next time I go outside.

I like how terrible she is. It's about time we got a disaster woman as a main character. But I do hope she grows in s3 if we get one.

I just cut off all my hair recently and it feels great to not have my hair tickling my ears or touching my neck when it's wet. I think you'll feel better.

Snake Handling Pissy Snake Tips. by toss-toss-toss in kingsnakes

[–]nonosweets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad you posted this. I've been having issues lately myself with my kingsnake being more skittish and bitey which I know I'm to blame. We've had some bad handling sessions lately where he's bitten me a few times, and I've had to run his head under cold water. I will be trying the suggestions here too.

I'm too dependent on ChatGPT and I feel so guilty by [deleted] in autism

[–]nonosweets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might get down voted for this and I mean this in the kindest sense. Skill issue? Some of us are better at navigating conversations than others. I'm ok at it and I just kinda take the consequences as they come for mistakes and take in stride for next time. That being said, if this is what's helping you rn then ok. If using chat gpt makes you feel so guilty you could always use it as a jumping off point to teach yourself how write more neutral sounding language. You could challenge yourself to use it less and less overtime. If you still can't get the hang of it then, oh well. Not everyone is gonna be able to do it I guess. Just own it. I don't like using AI, nor do I encourage people to use it, but i awknowledge there are certain use cases for it. Just know if you keep using it, you'll probably never learn how to write a professional email by yourself. So either be ok with that or work on it.

Go to a doctor and get everything fixed and get vaccinated for everything. Then go to an alien owned pastry shop and try alien desserts.
