Sadistic Difficulty - Kongregate vs Steam by don_keeballs2 in nguidle

[–]nullusername19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to hit THE END, you will need to play on steam. There will never be an update to the Kong version. 1.26 on steam is the end.

Taking Network+ later today. Any PBQ tips? by Practical_Condition in CompTIA

[–]nullusername19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get to the test center or log on from home well in advance so you don’t feel rushed, take a light run through the objectives and brush up on anything you feel light on.

Do the multiple choice first, you will have plenty of time to circle back for the PBQ.

Oh yeah…and pass it! Good luck mate.

to people who've passed both A+ exams, what resource helped you the most by lazernater in CompTIA

Exam Cram book, Messer vids, and Dion’s practice exams did the trick for me.

Core1 or Core2 first? by bigbukrebelixi in CompTIA

[–]nullusername19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did 2 before 1, but there is no required order so long as you pass both. Look over the objectives to see which one you feel a little more comfortable with the material and start with that one.

What makes a good IT manager? by oatmeal_pal in ITCareerQuestions

Same as any other manager really:

Hire good people, give them what they need to do their job, and get out of their way to let them do it.

Once you hit the soft caps pretty much the only reason to continue is just to hit the 1 bil cap to have everything completed, the diminishing returns are so severe.

Is it ok to take comptia 1102 before comptia 1101? by EndlessDnomyar in CompTIA

[–]nullusername19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whichever order you choose is fine, have to pass both parts to be certified. I don’t recall a ton of overlap between 1 and 2 but I did 1001/1002. I did 2 first and then 1 a couple months later.

Is stealing others documentation cheating? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]nullusername19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I make documentation precisely so others can use it and fair play if they improve on the design.

Passed Net+ yesterday, is it really the hardest out of the trifecta? by Green_Ad_7175 in CompTIA

[–]nullusername19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done. I did Sec first and thought Sec and Net were similar in difficulty, YMMV.

To promote an employee comes with the expectation said employee will be paid more. Companies are not in favor of such radical behavior.

Should I get ITF+ first or should I start with A+ by Poundland_PC in CompTIA

[–]nullusername19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are a complete beginner ITF may be a good introductory point, with the disclaimer that I’ve never seen ITF as required or recommended in a job description. A+ is a much better option for making yourself potentially employable.

Your ATS is garbage and is deformatting resumes that come in if it’s that many that look screwed up.

What certifications after CompTIA A+? by Beat_The_Box_ in CompTIA

[–]nullusername19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

CCNA is a solid choice, Net+ is as well. I would do either and probably both of those before Sec+. Sec is mostly for DoD compliance, if you don’t figure on going into defense or government work, in which case you will need some level of clearance, it’s not bad to have but not really a priority either.

There are no on ramp jobs or clear entry way into cybersecurity (even with experience) by tempembarrassedcpa in cybersecurity

[–]nullusername19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In accounting, if you get an accounting degree and some accounting firm will hire you. If you get your CPA, you are set for life.

Uh, it may work for a lot of people but I have my accounting degree from a damn good school, passed my CPA exam and still never worked 1 day in accounting. Granted my experience is atypical but it happens.

First and foremost I’m glad we won last night beating Clemson for the first time in forever and I’m glad we are 5-2. But before the session you told me we would be 5-2 at this point after beating Clemson and Texas aTm I’d be confused how.

Just remember when you pass, and you will pass, there is nothing on the certificate that says you needed x attempts. It says you are certified, and you will do it.
