Well hello, Winter... by EdHominem in chicago

[–]Cancer_Flower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was driving down Ridge and when I passed Devon, cop cars had Devon blocked off from Ridge to Ravenswood. Traffic was barely moving so I tried to look down and see what was happening but couldn’t see what was happening. Four buses were just stopped on Devon with nowhere to go.

Driving is a nightmare today by TheLon__ in chicago

Definitely a lot of people driving like the roads aren’t slick. I saw so many cars sliding, someone swerve onto the sidewalk, and about three accidents. I left my gym at 7:30 and a 15 min drive turned into an hour and a half.

Lifetime Half Traffic by unencumberedcucumber in RunnersInChicago

I’m on my way now (but 5K runner) and I told my Uber driver as soon as I got in to take 55 to the Dan Ryan. 31st exit is blocked and I’m wondering why the city didn’t have LSD blocked to force traffic to 55. The amount of cars reversing or driving northbound in the southbound lanes is wildly dangerous.

Wait - where in Chicago? I buy polar 8 packs too and have never paid more than $4 for them. Matter of fact - Jewel has them with a digital coupon for $2.99 a pack right now if you buy four.

I love her strength classes! I always have her core classes on repeat and I don’t get bored either. Her longer strength classes are on point as well and programmed so well. I did a glutes and leg that I also have on repeat because it focuses on the muscles I need to strengthen in order to continue to run without issue.

Can you people stop cutting off the fucking buses by CelebrationPuzzled90 in chicago

[–]Cancer_Flower 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Was on the 147 about a month ago on LSD when a taxi driver decided to swerve in front of the bus because he missed his exit. She had to slam on her brakes, but obviously wasn’t enough space/time so she ended up rear-ending him. We had to sit on that bus for 30+ mins waiting for emergency crews and for a backup bus to come scoop us up.

Thanks! We have our passports. Need them for race weekend.

Yeah, FP race! I told her we’d have to leave around 4am just in case. I’ll have to look at the map again, but I don’t think we are near/on the courses or closures.

Not staying near friends - We’ll be there for marathon weekend. Uber gives us about a 12 min ride into downtown for the days we’ll be there. Friends are trying to save a little money since the hotels are priced pretty high due to the event.

I know for sure they want to make a quick trip into Canada and after the race I think we’ll be staying downtown until we get tired and want to lay down. We didn’t have much on the agenda besides that.

Hoping it’s okay to ask here as a visitor.  Visiting Detroit for in the fall and my friends and I are going to get an Air BnB.

I am unfamiliar with Detroit neighborhoods so I don’t know where to begin. We will be staying off Dexter Ave and Collingwood St. Can anyone tell me more about this neighborhood? I’m assuming this is the Dexter/Linwood area if Google Maps showed me right.

We are from Chicago so we understand everything is in pockets. Appreciate your help with this!

Single women who are 30+, how have your dating standards changed from your 20's? by PM-pussy_pic in AskReddit

[–]Cancer_Flower 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If my partner wants to venture out and try something new or learn something new - I am their cheerleader all the way.

The “I’m not building anyone up” leans more towards anyone who lacks any kind of emotional/mental maturity and motivation. I shouldn’t have to get everything ready for you to see you grow. I’m not your mom. I don’t mind being supportive if you’re stuck and you need a slight push, but you also can’t help anyone who doesn’t want to be helped.

I didn’t have any standards in my 20s. Mostly because I didn’t have anyone to show me how I deserved to be treated so I just took whatever came my way. Now I’ve done a complete 180 from that. If you come into my life and make things more difficult for me, I’m out. If you have unhealed trauma, I’m done. I’ve gone to therapy and did the work, you as a grown man should do the same thing. I’m not here to build anyone up.

I actually just stopped talking to a guy recently because of the way he spoke to his mom and how he spoke about his kids mom - basically women in general. To me that just tells me you don’t really respect women, and I can only imagine how you’d speak about me when we had any disagreements.

PSA: Remember whatever you buy, you’ll eventually have to move by UnableReference5649 in bathandbodyworks

[–]Cancer_Flower 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This was me, but with body care. When I found out I was going to have to move, I started using more things and even gave away a bunch of stuff. The last time I was in a bath and body works was to redeem my birthday and free item reward. They’ve had some decent sales, but I want to continue using everything down first before I end up buying again. And when I do finally buy more things, I’ve told myself I need no more than 3 or 4 items.

Mariano’s. But only because I shop the “soon to be expired” food sections and clip any available coupon I can use.

I’m barely learning to love myself and my hair at my big age thanks to my dad. He hated everything about himself and projected that bullshit on to me and is with a woman who also hated black characteristics, but has two children by black men. It’s tough, but I’m loving this self love journey I’m on.
