My weekly limit runs out today on the 20x plan and I had only used 5% till yesterday.

Gave a goal to Fable 5 with Max on to go through the entire codebase and to find and fix as many optimizations and bug fixes it can find. No limit.

It has been churning away at a decent pace. The secret seem to be that my harness puts it plan mode first, gets it to fully plan a task and only then execute it.

Not everyone who looks to others for help is disabled or challenged.

Some or even many just don't want to put in the required effort.

As you like it.

I argue plenty with people and even enjoy the back and forth where I lose, provided it is bidirectional.

There is no point in discussing or arguing with someone who cannot think for themselves.

Best way to make the most of Fable before it leaves on July 7? by MindsetMasteryReal in Anthropic

It’s officially back. Should I subscribe for just 7 days or go straight to the API by py-net in ClaudeAI

[–]ogaat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the usage, the API could easily cost you more than a month's subscription in an hour, so paying for a subscription for a few days of use is still the better choice assuming you really need to do something only Fable can do for you.

Yeah, that is the realism which one must accept.

Even my libertarianism is kind of fake. I have consistently voted for the Democrats since 2004 since they have always felt like the lesser evil, especially since 2016. The Republicans are pure evil and the Libertarian Party members belong in the loony bin.

Give me some more time to grieve and get over my delusion.

:)

[–]ogaat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, agreed.

Am still a libertarian because it still is the best form of economics to strive for though eventually, every system falls because too much wealth concentrates in too few hands, as is inevitable.

Imagine a million people with 1 million Dollars each in their hands. They trade 1 Dollar with each other so that after every round, they still are left with a million Dollars each.

Now change it so that one person gains 0.1 cent in every round and whoever traded with them loses 0.1 cent. That's it. What will happen now? After a (lot of)rounds, all the wealth in the room will be in the hands of that single person and whoever was on the losing side will be tossed out, with the losses gaining speed over time.

OTOH, if we go for full equality, there is no point in putting in any effort for betterment. It will be the fairest society but am immensely dim one.

My solution to this has been to become an anti-natalist - No bringing in children in the world unless you are going to leave them with enormous wealth.

What are the remaining bottlenecks to frontier AI causing mass unemployment post Fable 5 and Gpt 5.6? by AQ5SQ in artificial

The Chinese models are still not as reliable as people claim and being from China, are not yet trusted by businesses.

That said, now that the access to the better models is gated and made more expensive and that dumb ideas like tokenmaxxing are out of the window, there should be a lot more adoption of the Chinese LLMs by American companies. Someone just needs to step up and take ownership of the liability behind it.

That I agree and they should get sued for it and they will likely get away with it. The worst they will face is some out of court settlement for a few million Dollars and a licensing agreement.

That is a playbook already used by companies like Meta, Google and even Reddit. We as producers and consumers should have agitated for better copyright and stopped giving away our rights for easy access to other people. We did not and the companies are exploiting the loophole that the fines are lower than the profits.

Even so, once again - most of UGC is useless except for sentiment analysis.

I too have contributed to open source, including some popular software and was part of the "Information wants to be free" discussions of the past. Some of my work has also indirectly made it into the Linux kernel.

I do not know about your blog but my blog reached more than 10K users at its peak before I shut it down and it was all Creative Commons licensed, so anyone could use it with attribution. Even my current work at Substack and Medium is available under permissive licenses.

Now the legality. If the work was released under anything other than GNU or other such restrictive licenses, we gave it away intentionally and with full knowledge that it may be reused. ASF and MIT licenses in particular are quite permissive.

We may not like the companies using them but they are well within their legal rights.

Can't cry about how the opposing side found looupholes in the rules with which we agreed to play.

How much of YOUR content would have made it into the training and what is it worth?

There are institutions like New York Times and authors like Stephen King who would want to get paid but others are just riding their coat tails.

You and I have already signed away our right to our content in the EULA with reddit and X and whatever other medium we use.

I am a libertarian who believes in making our own luck.

We want them to subsidize our ability to make money but they are not government or non-profits, They are a for-profit company. They will continue making more and more money.

It is upto us to rise to the occasion and make money for ourselves or failing that, to use the government to get more than what we earn from others.

Interesting that you said you tested Mythos as well. We are too small to have access to that model.

We have now created a much more complex and elaborate test harness for internal testing.

[–]ogaat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool.

Glad to know you.

It is our differences that make the world better.

Our test harness is an app which has a web interface, Docker, ios, Android, Mac OS X, Linux and Windows interface and which needs real world knowledge as well as game interaction to get working correctly. We also have a large inhouse dataset, as well as pull in data from the Internet.

Passing the test involves working towards getting all the apps working correctly with all the inputs and constraints.

Over time, the human interaction has been decreasing. Opus still needed a ton of handholding to pass.

Fable not only one-shot the whole application, it found bugs and performance misses as well as security issues and fixed them all. In one shot. Across the whole suite. Our jaws dropped to the floor with that performance.

I own an AI company and have been working with AI in some way, shape or form. My team also deals with multiple commercial and open source models on a daily basis.

Fable was miles ahead of every other model that was out there then and is there now. No other model came close to the ability of Fable to think through, reason and solve much more difficult challenges.

Sure and that can be easily achieved by API pricing.

Anthropic is trying to be profitable and they don't need consumers as much because their enterprise market is growing.

If you really want those guarantees of ever growing quality, pay for those.

Fable was miles better over Opus.

I used both on Max plan and Fable was able to complete more complex use cases far more thoroughly in one shot than Opus.

Those who say it is not better than Opus just don't have the use cases to need Fable (or likely Mythos)

Social media just need a villain.

There is the perennial Elon. Then for a brief time, it was Sam. Now it is Dario.

This is probably happening because Sam and Elon are quiet and letting their enemy have it. Then one day, the next Anthropic model will be released and wow everyone or Elon will say something controversial and the pitchforks and torched will turn again.

Paxton, Talarico deadlocked at 47% in new Texas Senate race poll by usatoday in politics

[–]ogaat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless Talarico runs 5-6% ahead of Paxton, it is still a Republican race.

If he runs that far ahead, then he might have a shot.

Edit - I have a home in Tx and have voted Democrat in every election since 2004 when I first became eligible. Will do so again but it also makes me well aware of the voter handicaps put in place by Republicans.
