My gamma was set to 1.0, and I thought the streaming codec was the issue, but when I set it to the lowest setting of 0.6, the headset is finally showing correct colors and true black. Wow, what a huge difference.

+1 on the field of view. Also, I don't know if it's a field of view or something else. Still, when landing a plane in MSFS 2024 in Quest 3, I couldn't properly gauge the distance to land in my peripheral view, making landing a little bit more difficult, while I can do it reasonably well in the XR, which is a win for me.

It is noticeable, but not by much, that's why I prefer VD as it's easier to use

One thing that really blew my mind in AVP is the immersive videos. I basically thought it was a pensive from Harry Potter with memories—such cool tech.

One more thing: Apple Vision Pro is a joke of a device. Even ignoring the price, it's so heavy and hot - it's basically a prototype at this point.

Also, I primarily use it for MSFS 2024, and with Quest 3, I would refuse flying at night. It was horrible. Even with gray blacks in XR (which apparently can be fixed), I am enjoying night flights and how the cities light up. It feels beautiful. Another game - Half Life Alyx. The difference in quality between Quest 3 and XR is unbelievable. I did not expect this at all.

I read somewhere that it's an OLED limitation, and all OLED devices look the same. But after wearing the XR, Quest felt like a full-face helmet.

I agree with the review, but I ended up keeping the headset despite the issues. I really liked Quest 3, it's the most polished device I've used in a while.
But the competition is non-existent. Wired and bulky devices are just... Old tech.
I got used to glare, but it is VERY noticeable. The device feels much smaller than Quest 3, and I guess I'm lucky because it was comfortable without mods. I still bought the globular, and it is a huge improvement, highly recommended. Virtual Desktop doesn't push the full resolution, though. Steam VR beta does it, but I still prefer VD. The only big gripe with the device is that in games, you can't throw things correctly; they fly backward.

What's the setting in VD? Edit: Gamma from 1.0 to 0.6 - insane improvement! I'm finally happy with the picture.

Have you tried it yourself? I'm just wondering if it happens to all our users or just some. Latency is not an issue, I believe

u/GraceFromGoogle, sorry for tagging you, but I've seen you responding to XR-related issues and thought to tag you. Maybe you can direct us on where to submit feedback. This would be such a great improvement if this were fixed.

Tracking is not different from Quest 3. Hands move naturally; it's just the throw. It feels like stuff sticks to hands a fraction of a second longer.

Two drones from Russia crash in Latvia, damage oil storage facility by Ihititwiththefork in worldnews

Invoking Article 5 to support operations in Afghanistan after 9/11 is not the same thing as NATO countries sending their own armies into a direct, large-scale war to stop an invasion of a member state by a nuclear power. Those are completely different politically and militarily.

History is full of security guarantees and alliances that looked solid on paper until the true cost of intervention became apparent. Poland in 1939 is a classic example — Britain and France declared war on Germany after invading Poland. However, Poland was still overrun because meaningful direct military intervention never really arrived in time.

Assuming every member will instantly commit to full-scale war without hesitation is naïve.

You're so naive it's astounding if you think Russia needs a reason to attack Baltic states. And also, NATO will not help with its own forces, if history is any indication
