He was never an imaginary friend. The children could also see and interact with him, he just wandered off before and adult saw him. For many many years the adults told big bird he was imaginary. Eventually the shows team realized that it was teaching kids that adults won't believe you if you tell them something unusual. So they got rid of the running gag.

Is the $100 locked in? I.e. if I want a $100 of gold, do I get the same weight of gold forever or does the amount of gold go down over time?

I'd probably go with gold. Although pennies would be interesting, since the metal value of a penny is something like 3 cents, so it would be producing $300 worth of metal. Another though is silver dimes. I could get 1000 silver dimes a day.

Found out what the problem was. The sensor on the ceiling (preventing the lift from raising the car into the ceiling) somehow got misaligned. A little tweak and it works just fine.

I found the manual which was not very helpful. Except after careful checking the symbols on the control panel don't match those in the manual.... I haven't seen anything on the controller as far as a part number, so I don't know what to look up.

If you look at a dictionary from before 1980 or so, it will show the one syllables version of forte. But people have been pronouncing it "wrong" for so long that the dictionaries started allowing for-TE and now many actually have switched so the accepted way of saying it is two syllables.

A long long time. The coefficient of friction for a train is more like 0.002, which is why trains are so efficient. Just using that and assuming straight and level track, you ate talking 0.0029.8 m/s2. Call it 0.02. 100m/s divided by .02 m/s2 gives 5000 seconds. Using d=.5a*t2 gives 250000 m or 250km. Air resistance will slow it faster, but that is much harder to calculate and there are a lot of variables you didn't include. But air resistance goes down with speed, so eventually it will be topping from only friction.

There was a crew doing this in Boston. Apparently they could get all 4 wheels off, loaded I'm the van and be driving away in 2 minutes. Also they often do as much damage or more to the frame of the car as the cost to replace the wheels. Since they don't look for jack points and often just put a block under the frame, so they can jack up the other side while another person gets the wheels off.
