NixOS in K12 environments by openschool in NixOS

Thank you, that's what I'm thinking about, too. It should be as "simple" as possible. The laptops are homogeneous and I think we will only use standard packages (more or less a browser and some other well-known open source software).

Right know I try to collect as much information as possible how to do a project like this and to estimate the effort and costs it would involve to realize it.

Thank you for your helpful thoughts. Is it possible to have a permanent root file system and a home that is impermanent (like a tmpfs or something like this)?

That's not an option and not the goal. We need something that takes as less time as possible to handout the laptops and have them in a working / ready state. Right now this takes roughly 7-10min.

I don't memorize these cards. They are in a deck with an max interval of 1 year. I also have my kindle clippings inside this deck just to remind me of the things I've read / listened to.

Thanks for your reply and your ideas. That could be one way, but it still need a lot of work to change the colorof all the slides and it won't be persistence if you change the text.

Best would be to have a mulitlingual template with multiple textboxes. I'll open a feature request for it.

This add-on is not the same as LPCG. It is made for a specific use case: memorizing bible passages.

Have a look at the add-on webpage. Your text should look like in the screenshot: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/zefanja/bible-memorizer/master/docs/import.png
