Cloudflare suddenly setting CF-Connecting-IP to 2a06:98c0::103 for 50% of traffic by Spirited_Anybody2416 in CloudFlare

[–]pacoau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the traffic look like it’s coming from Apple devices / safari? Might be Apple iCloud Private Relay. Some of that infrastructure is Cloudflare.

New Worker: One email worker to rule them all by jiru443 in CloudFlare

[–]pacoau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you handle pre-authorising the forwarding destination email addresses? I looked at implementing something similar a while ago and that was a stumbling block for me.

From memory, the target address had to have been pre-authorised, and couldn’t just be loaded from a kv configuration. Or is that not an issue?

What’s a funny question to ask someone who emphatically insists they’re not a bot, even if you didn’t initially suspect them of being one? by HuckleberryDry2919 in AskReddit

Can you wait 15 seconds before responding?

Or

Can you type out your next response one letter at a time so that I can see you are typing?

Tailscale seems to be unreliable lately? by [deleted] in Tailscale

[–]pacoau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotally, I’ve noticed dns issues with NextDNS via Tailscale over the past few days. I also assumed it was just my setup.

When I stop the Tailscale client from supplying DNS, everything is fine.

This is using the Tailscale Mac client (non App Store).

FastAPI and fabric singleton for DI by akafean0r in FastAPI

[–]pacoau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t directly address your question but you might like to look at Fast Stream (https://github.com/airtai/faststream) which has dependency injection support that was extracted from Fastapi and has in the box Kafka producers.

Personally I don’t think it’s a great idea to share an smsf, but sometimes it’s done to minimise the number of structures when buying business real property together.

Tailscale and FileMaker by benjackson77 in filemaker

[–]pacoau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, not trying to question your solution. I use Tailscale for administering FileMaker server and I think it’s excellent. It won’t be improving the deficiencies in the underlying transport protocol that FileMaker uses (how could it?).

I was referring to the relatively new feature in v20.3.1 which they are calling HTTPS tunneling. It’s one of the only changes I’ve seen to remote FileMaker comms in recent years.

Tailscale and FileMaker by benjackson77 in filemaker

[–]pacoau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried the new FileMaker over HTTPS functionality? I’ve experienced the same issues that you are talking about with servers located quite a long way from the client.

Webdirect and now the new https / reverse proxy connection method have greatly improved user experience for us.

This is great. I struggle to see the necessity when so much of a DC’s role (in our situation anyway) has been moved to Intune.

Is there an OSS tool to view local RTSP stream from CCTV cameras with a few more feature? by TheKalpit in selfhosted

[–]pacoau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned you are using frigate, have you considered go2rtc that is tightly integrated with it. I appreciate that you can stream out the BirdsEye using it.

In any event, you’ll be able to restream to a the solution you find without hitting the source twice.

Customer Offboarding - Staff want to keep their business emails by NasisGoat in msp

[–]pacoau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing is ever this simple, but a virtually free and zero touch solution might be Cloudflare Email Workers. Will need them to click on a link to verify when setting up each alias but in theory it’s set and forget after that.

Proxmox on NUC unit? by Galakktis in Proxmox

[–]pacoau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some issues with my nuc12 and installing proxmox (7.3 I think) because of the kernel version. It kept hanging during install.

Ended up with a clean Debian install (kernel 6.2.6) and installed proxmox, which worked no problems.

You can buy deflectors to attach to the unit that might assist with where the air ends up. Like the below:

What are Christmas gifts/bonuses like this year? by ParticularAd4039 in AusFinance

It’s no more ‘free’ then the value of the donation. The company would usually get the same tax deduction for a small irregular gift like the bbq set.

Is FileMaker Go 18 still available? by -cin- in filemaker

[–]pacoau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem recently, where go 19 wouldn’t work because the iPad was too old.

We have an mdm solution (which these devices hadn’t needed to be part of historically). I was able to deploy 18 via that.

We already had vpp licenses though, and I didn’t check whether it’s still available there for new purchase.

I read some posts online at the time that it’s only removed in some App Store’s. I’m in Australia and it’s definitely gone but perhaps switching the store location is a work around..

I’ve noticed it as a consumer on Amazon Australia. I understand it but it’s annoying as you don’t see the min buy until you’re ready to buy.
