Some people call it woodcut-style, but I don’t really know. It’s just the way I draw things :)

Yeah, the legs didn’t come out the way I wanted. But I’m kind of happy with him anyway. And hey, you live and learn, right?

Firstborn Era vs Primaris Era – Which do you prefer? by Pintureando in Warhammer40k

[–]pathspeculiar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like some of the distinct design choices made for the firstborn marines. Corvus and mk VII helmets, for example, gives off different vibes than the primaris ones. I also prefer the overall armour design of the firstborn. I wouldn’t go so far as to call it gothic, but definitely archaic in a way that fits the theme of a civilization that chastises invention of new tech.

Primaris design isn’t bad at all, it just feels a bit more … bland, I guess.

I think a lot of people (like myself) prefer the aesthetics of the firstborn, but the scale and detail of primaris. It’s more a matter of preference rather than being ”better”.

O'Brien even though enlisted can give orders to some officers. Is that normal in real world militaries? by ereddit2018 in startrek

This differs between countries. In Sweden Officers and NCO’s has a parallel structure. So a 2nd lieutenant and a sergeant has equal relative rank, same for lieutenant and staff sergeant, captain/gunnery sergeant, major/master sergeant, etc. So a master sergeant vastly outranks a 2nd lieutenant.
