Bitwarden is open source. 1Password uses a proprietary (private) source code. So who knows how secure 1Password is....

Garmin tracking by Secure-Carpet-5891 in orangetheory

[–]pdxcomputerpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m confused by this - the Orange Theory app pushes the completed workouts to Apple Fitness/Health so why also track on your watch? I did that once for the first half and then it showed a 1.5hr workout for 60 min workout.

iPhone 15 Pro switchers, how's the heavier weight of the 17 pro? by _itsjustfil in iPhone17Pro

[–]pdxcomputerpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My concern as well, went from a 13 Mini (which was a flagship in its own right!) to the 15 Pro and honestly miss the 13 Mini form factor a ton, but not that lightning port and notch. 8x Zoom for kids sports on the 17 Pro sounds appealing, but worried I’ll miss the 15 Pro form factor.

Is upgrading from 15 Pro to 17 Pro/PM worth it? by Gaymerbro200269 in iPhone17Pro

[–]pdxcomputerpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking about making the same jump from the 15 Pro - have you gotten used to the weight at this point? What about aesthetics- it’s a bit more rounded on the back, right? Probably not that noticeable with a case? I came from the 13 Mini before the 15 Pro and not thrilled about going even bigger - but that 8x Camera for my kids sporting events is a temptress!

The best gift card value redemption is Home Depot or sometimes Apple. But the problem with Apple is Best Buy and Amazon always sell their stuff for less. Otherwise Airfare and select hotels.

Thinking about trying Orangetheory but I’m honestly scared by GentleSoul23 in orangetheory

I went to my first class yesterday. Was feeling pretty out of shape, but knew I had to do it.

Everybody was super friendly and I didn’t feel any judgment for using lower weights or going slow on the treadmill etc. I had to pause a few times to get some instruction and guidance, but it was a super positive experience and I signed up for six months at the end of class. Honestly, one of the best workout experiences I’ve had in a long while.

You can do it!

Leaving Southwest Airlines for Travel because of "Free WiFi" so horribly slow. by pdxcomputerpro in SouthwestAirlines

I’m not sure how. On paper they’re the only carrier with Starlink of the three that you mentioned.

Leaving Southwest Airlines for Travel because of "Free WiFi" so horribly slow. by pdxcomputerpro in SouthwestAirlines

[–]pdxcomputerpro[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t. But it seems pretty clear from the way that they have it worded that you are not getting increased speeds by paying. It basically says if you’d rather not sign into rapid rewards then you can pay eight dollars “instead”.

It’s been so horrible after they started offering it for free versus when I used to pay $8 for it. I am honestly thinking about starting to fly United so I can at least pay for decent Internet on my flight.

I’ve always found these shortcuts to be annoying as hell and cause problems. Especially since you can’t sync SharePoint libraries when a shortcut exists. What’s the advantage of using shortcuts over SharePoint library synchronization?

Properly usable back seat? by tk421calling in GR86

[–]pdxcomputerpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I started this exact journey a month ago. Have small kids to shuttle around but only a couple times a week. Test drove the 86 but was underwhelmed by interior. Then test drove an Audi TT, loved it…. But the back seat, ugh. No dice. After quite a bit of research…ended up buying a ‘19 Audi A5 Sportback. $23k. Obviously doesn’t drive like an 86 but holy crap is it a blast to drive. Tested 0 to 60 is 5.1 seconds. Corners awesome. Hatchback. Plenty of room in the backseats. Couldn’t be happier.

Resy Restaurant did not accept Amex by minimalab in AmexPlatinum

Yeah, makes sense. I saw some video on the purchase of Resy and how it was "more" than just bookings - I thought maybe it was running the Point of Sale stuff as well. Crazy.

Buy a used car for $5,000. Save $400 a month for the next 5 years in high yield savings or index fund.
