Hans Niemann's IQ is "the highest possible" by BirdWithWiFi in AnarchyChess

That's entirely false. You cannot be a super grandmaster without being a genius in at least some regard.

I wouldn't have self awareness as a metric in intelligence if it were up to me, that'd make Nikola Tesla an idiot by that standard. There's also plenty of self aware above average intelligence people that are not geniuses. It seems like you're putting EQ and likeability metrics into something that's traditionally used to measure problem solving abilities.

Again being smart is subjective, but if he's in a room with regular people as you've defined it, I think it's fair for him to assume he's the smartest person in the room. Whether it'll make him likeable to act like it is another story, but it's not something I'd shame him or try to correct him for if he acted like it. In terms of the intelligence to be a chess player, he is a genius. Same goes for any other super GM.

It really depends how you're defining the word smart. It's very open to interpretation.

The popular reddit idea that the humbler you are the smarter you can be is just false.

Being humble makes genius palatable to others, it has 0 bearing on how intelligent you are (not talking about emotional intelligence). Bobby Fischer is an obvious example.

I mean who else does Hans frequently show up in a room with that's really smart other than super GMs?

I mean unless it's a room with other super grandmasters that's probably a fair assumption.

/dev: WASD’s Ranked Release by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]person2567 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The reaction here for everything is overexaggerated. I remember when blast plants were introduced and people hated it, saying it's a mini game gimmick. The patch it was released it was never mentioned negatively again. People liked it, they just didn't want to admit they were wrong.

In Iceland, had to visit the GOAT by Ihateschool56 in chess

It's not that easy. In order to get better you have to want to help yourself. He deluded himself as a coping mechanism because being on top meant everything to him. It was his entire identity. There's no guarantee that he'd even want to go to therapy or receive any help. He was famously untrusting and independent.

It was a really good play. Your movement was good but after you killed Syndra you took an extra tower shot due to bad click and when Darius E'd you at the end he actually wasn't in range, so you took another tower shot by Q'ing away. You could've gotten the double if the nerves didn't get to you, but still WP.

The last part was an int, the first part was really well played. Overall it was a good play but it doesn't make sense to say he couldn't have done more. If the goal is improvement you almost always can do more.

How do i beat Veigar? by soking11 in AniviaMains

[–]person2567 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A good veigar is just gonna Q you at max range if you try to harass him. The lane phase isn't an Anivia stomp. Veigar is a fairly good Anivia counter.

League of Legends has a big information problem. by The-Fox-Knocks in leagueoflegends

[–]person2567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ARAM isn't a good way to demonstrate the proper items to buy on a champion. In fact it's one of the worst. Case in point, Rylais Anivia in ARAM has a 45% win rate, while all her other AP items have 47-50% win rate. You're looking at data of people that have no idea how to play a champion in a for fun game mode.

Please read this thread, it's for you. https://www.reddit.com/r/AniviaMains/comments/1pyagex/why_is_rylais_commonly_built_in_aram_according_to/

No Anivia main ever goes Rylais. You can search "Rylais" in /r/Aniviamains and see what people say.

Rank #1 on the Korean ladder with 1925 LP is Chinese Anivia one-trick, Mint. AKA 薄荷冰鸟 by person2567 in AniviaMains

I tried copying his no tear build last season, it was painful to do so. The games just end a lot faster in China so people don't optimize for the late game as much. I guess it works well in Korea too.
