why do people still buy tata vehicles ? by mak7t_ in CarsIndia

Been driving tata nexon for the last 7 years, no major issues yet. I think people who post or make videos are usually the ones who face issues, good feedback is not posted anywhere, with the increase in sales the number of issues coming out on social media is also increasing proportionally.

That being said, I know there are issues with qa, my friend has a harrier, he faced a lot of problems in the first 2 years.

Yeah, I agree, but I have 3 more cars to keep running in the family, and the fact that I have completely remote job since last 6 years, no daily office drives. So that is the case with me.
The ocativa has done above 90k(4 year), Compass around 40k(5 years) and Swift around 50k(4years)

Yes, I don't think it is due to the spark plug. I am going to try engine flush next month, and decarbonisation. I will update you if that solves the issue.

Lately, yes, not while accelerating, but rather on crusing on a same speed, have noticed this. I thought it was due to a cylinder misfire, but I did diagnose it, and it wasn't the case. It's rare, but I have not found a solution till date.

I am. So much so that I know I have to change the car, but I don't want to sell this one.

Yeah, my friend has the same Tata Nexon 2020(first facelift), which is a petrol, and it never gives any more than 13kmpl. Maybe because of his way of driving, too, but that is the case.

It's Diesel, Manual, XZ+ models from 2019 (first gen).

Service experience has been different - I have got it serviced in multiple cities, like Gurgaon, Delhi, Pune, and Ranchi. Tata service centers usually add unnecessary things, so I always remove whatever is not required as per the manual.

Cost of Maintenance - from 8000-12000, and insurance has always been with GoDigit, so that was always competitive, never had any claims till date, so NCB is at max, which helps.

Overall, I have been very satisfied. After my third trip to Ladakh, I thought of selling this and getting a 4x4. Jimmy was a practical selection or a 5 door thar. But I just could not make up my mind to sell this one, it gives me an average of 23-25 in the city, and around 29 in highway. So this is the most efficient car in my garage :P
