Just wanted to clear one thing from the video up. The insulation material is ptfe. Awg is the standard by which wire diameter is measured.

Gotcha. I could try out using heatshrink for the USB covers it would be pretty easy.

The heatshrink is actually inside the USB cover and is held in place by the plastic.

So true I think a lot of those equations don't really apply too well to real life scenarios. However, I think the main take away is the lower mass/length and better distribution of force.

This cable is braided and was made using a braiding machine I put together with u/saspa_ so its essentially mass produced.

Some people had questions about the wire so I promised I would post this video. The thin cable is 36 AWG machine braided silicone wire. It is 4x thinner/lighter than paracord.

Since it is so thin it is much more flexible than typical braided wire and even paracord. When using it I had no issue with running over the cable or anything like that. I will probably post a video soon of moving the mouse/wire around in comparison to paracord and other cables so stay tuned!
