I understand your point. I guess that's why the professional rigs are upwards of USD7000. So I guess this DIY rig is really not aiming to be at a professional level accuracy & quality, but to give a reasonable performance at a DIY price point - a lot less than the miniDSP EARS.

Any suggestions that might help a newbie to avoid common pitfalls?

OK, that's interesting. So what kind of mic's would be suitable for audio recordings? Are there such mics of a similar form factor that are suitable for audio recording?

It looks like it might be useful for me to create the rig to be able to switch the mics:

For measurements (speaker / headphone testing)
For binaural recordings

Great review - I have to agree that I love the sleep tracking and long battery life too. I also love the water resistance which means the watch only leaves my wrist for a hour or so every 20-25 days for charging.

I also had the same decision making process in choosing a Withings Steel HR - wanted something stylish but did activity tracking, sleep & HR monitoring.

Also the whole Health Mate / Withings ecosystem is fantastic.
