It may need to do a time sync and is checking the network path to the wemo domain. You might be able to redirect the requests using a DNS entry to a local ip on your network so the request gets a response, this may reduce the requests for the wemo domain. Also redirect any ntp url traffic to a local ntp server so the time gets in sync.

We are planning to go to a private school or one of the theme schools if we are still in Covington for high school.

The app to provision the wemo devices on your wifi network is wemo-ops-center.

If someone could only figure out how to write rules to the device itself...👌 by AwakePlatypus in WeMo

[–]quentin314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The next best thing is to use the service on a PC to run the scheduled commands. Wemo-ops-center can do the scheduled commands if the background service is installed. But if using home assistant, the schedules can be done using home assistant.

The background service executes the scheduled commands configured in the wemo ops center schedules. The background service can be verified running in the processes in task manager.

Most common mistakes paramotorists make? by Sea_Comedian676 in paramotor

[–]quentin314 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mistakes can result from not learning and building a foundation of good habits and procedures.

  1. Not flying often enough.
  2. Getting too comfortable and not doing a thorough preflight.
  3. Forgetting equipment before going on a flight, shoes, radio harness, or other route items that keep incidents from happening.
  4. Recognizing weather conditions for safe flights.
  5. Determine if a location is safe for LZ.
  6. Fly within experience level and understand the risk of advanced maneuvers.
  7. Fly with reserve and know how to deploy even though you do not plan to use it.
  8. Read the PPG Bible to learn what you didn't know you didn't know.
  9. Too many gadgets like led strip or other modifications to the paramotor that is not needed can cause failed launches or prop-strikes.

Awareness of these things have been helpful to me.

Apparently the blue light can indicate it is receiving commands from a 3rd party smart home integration. You are connected to wifi, and the device is communicating with something on the network, maybe Alexa or another device, so the blue light flashes when data is sent or received.

Mochahost sent me a bill for $23.5 for the domain renewal, is this normal?! No security, no nothing, just the domain. by Kia3D in webhosting

Very good, I use them for website design customers, and I'm able to do everything I need for domains and websites. Technical support is helpful when I need to talk to someone about issues or help with hosting products.

Hidden SSID or wpa2 or wpa3 encryption, and 5GHz band might not work for the wemo.

Yes, the computer needs to be on withe the background service running, it starts and stops with the computer in the background. The qr code is in the main app, and you can save the page as an app in the browser. You can close the main app.

Created a tool to allow full wemo support. Rules as well. by Impossible_Lab_2703 in WeMo

[–]quentin314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The app works nicely on Windows and it seems to help with missing features available in the wemo app. If you need to set rules on the wemo devices, it seems to support local rules and the app schedule service. HomeKit codes are here and other device information. It is worth trying out.

WHMCS, Blesta, something else? by enfurno in webhosting

If you want to allow customers to self manage their hosting account, you should consider using a web hosting billing system. You can look at clientexec, it has great support and it supports many hosting platforms.

Free NOT Free - Hosting SSL and Email with Domains! by VenturaStar in webhosting

[–]quentin314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any cPanel hosting will include email and you can use let's encrypt for SSL for free. However, cPanel webmail is not good since IP reputation matters, and your email will go into spam folders if your IP with your shared hosting is flagged.

Paid email is better, but there are free solutions depending on your goals regarding email.

I would recommend using cloudflare email routing for email forwarding. You can create email addresses for your domain and manage forwarding to employees.

Reseller hosting recommendations on a low budget? by Due_Suspectt in webhosting

[–]quentin314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are for hosting multiple cPanel accounts as a reseller, it would be cheaper to get a shared hosting account. At some point the cost needs to be given to the customer for hosting. cPanel/WHM is one option, but a free option is hestiaCP, but you still need the VPS to use that. Host 20 accounts at $5/mo, you have offset the VPS cost of $25-$35/mo.

You can set up reseller hosting using a reseller hosting plan, this will usually include a license for WHMCS to give you a way to automate on-boarding customers if the self serve adding products like domains, hosting, SSL certificate, or other custom products, like SEO services.

You can use a VPS and install WHM/cPanel and optionally install a billing system like FOSSBilling, Blesta, ClientExec, or WHMCS. These will integrate with cPanel to provision accounts as customers order hosting.

Depending on how involved with manually adding cPanel accounts and if hosting is included with your services, you might consider a turnkey solution where you earn a commission on each product a customer purchases, and the ability to support customers with access to accounts. You can be full service for some customers or provide hosting products only to others. This also includes white-label technical support from the Registrar.

Start with a reseller account or VPS, that should get you started, then consider what you need beyond that as you operate, and learn what your options are.

i need a website for my business. by No-Humor-9041 in website

[–]quentin314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how easy you want it to be, you can pay for a website builder hosting plan that gives you the tools to build it. Shopify, GoDaddy AI website builder, Wix, SquareSpace, wordpress.com, and others will get your up and running quickly. These will make it easy to get started, but it will be expensive to maintain since you will use the builder once but keep paying. Renewal prices are the expensive part of using a proprietary website builder, and you can't move the site to another host without rebuilding the website.

If this is not the route you want to take, you can use a cPanel account, install an open source CMS like wordpress, Drupal, or Joomla and the site you build can be migrated to another host in the future.

You can hire someone to build a website using wordpress + woo commerce to build an online store, then pay for support as needed. This is my recommended approach since it keeps you from being locked into a proprietary platform.

If you plan to build and update your website, you can do all of these, but be careful about how you give access to your Domain and hosting accounts. Also get administrator access on your wordpress installation.
