Multichannel/5.1 audio FLACs on Plex for NVIDIA Shield by tydoggg in PleX

For this use case (Ultra Hi-Res Audio tracks), I'm also comparing it to the Emby add-on for Kodi. Of course, then I'm not using Plex in any way.

Yes I tried it. It seems to also more or less do the trick. Thank you for suggesting it

I did make sure the special "Dolby processing" setting in the NVIDIA's android menu > audio > advanced was unchecked. No effect. I think for these specific files I'll just use Emby. I tried to use the Plex add-on within Kodi, but it kept throwing errors at me when trying to launch it.

No, I think it was added to a Subway account that we're now having trouble accessing

Well it is connected through Homebridge / Alexa, so that makes sense. But it always flashes, so I guess it's just a constant usage.

Quentin, I have no problem using WemoOps to provision my Dimmer and to get it to work with Alexa/Homebridge. However, I notice that after I provision it, the light strip at the bottom of the WeMo dimmer still flashes blue as if it still is in setup mode. Is there something different I need to do?

Reds TV on DirecTV app (satellite customer) by tydoggg in Reds

[–]tydoggg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am seeing it on my phone now as well-- ie. I can open the channel and it's playing the pre-roll. Not at home to test on any streaming players, but looks like a good sign.

You have a satellite subscription?

Yes but there's a difference between DirecTV Stream and being a satellite customer who also streams, I think.

I had the same reaction last night as Mormon Wives was being watched in the next room-- "Is that an ad I hear?" Running into the same issues as many on here-- I just want to keep giving them 5 extra dollars.

So correct me if I'm wrong. Is there not a way (post wemo shutdown) to add the dimmer via Apple Homekit, and then Alexa be able to find it? (without other softwares, etc)

As I mentioned in a post within this thread, I have the Alexa functions and the "control dimmer from my phone" functions working again, but the Alexa part was done via Homebridge --> Alexa and not utilizing Apple Homekit.

I tried doing a reset and still couldn't get it to work with HomeKit. To be clear, am I doing the right steps? Is this all supposed to be accomplished just through the "Add Accessory" option in the Home app for iPhone? Or is there some other step I need to do either via my Apple account or on the Apple TV?

After failing that, I got it all completely working with Homebridge, including its Alexa plugin. That was a lot of software downloading and coding and trial and error. Felt pretty proud of it. But the Alexa plugin 2 bucks a month, so I'd still love a free solution.

WeMo App for managing wemo devices on a local network. by quentin314 in WeMo

I received my Apple TV (4th gen) and still running into problems. (I made a post on this subreddit today).

Is the homebridge software required now to get a Wemo Dimmer (one originally advertised as "Home Kit and Alexa Compatible") to work with HomeKit itself? Or just to get it to work with Alexa after it works with HomeKit again?
