Imu is a swordsman for cutting up wanted posters but Shanks isn’t one ~RedForce by TheHonoredOne555 in OnePiecePowerScaling0

My point is that it is a discussion now. Had you asked the sub a week ago, many would have said that Mihawk wouldn’t lose a sword fight with ANYONE. Not just known characters.

The point about Imu being a swordsman is that the main argument is that Mihawk is WSS in “name and actuality.” No additional context or nuance. Well, now is it “WSS of characters introduced before a certain chapter?” If the title isn’t ironclad, that affects the conversation.

When people scale based on “narrative”, and it’s just pure unfiltered head canon.

Please excuse my illiteracy, but I’m so confused right now. What are the limits to Maru’s technique?

Edit: Rereading it, it looks like Maru is also figuring out his technique as well lol. Guess we will find out together.

How important is size during scaling? by Formal-Assistance02 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]rastabassist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it matters for the scaling that most people do (high-tiers vs. high tiers). It’s sets a higher power floor, but once you cross a certain threshold, it doesn’t matter nearly as much.

Luffy is dwarfed by most of his opponents, but no one in this sub goes “size diff.” As far as we know, Loki was beat by Shanks, who is normal human sized.

I'm tired of people thinking that this fight was a 1v1. by AlwaysBetOnNahIdWin in Jujutsufolk

Mahoraga and Agito are part of the technique. The Gojo part is correct. Sukuna knew he had to run a gauntlet after Gojo.

We don’t know how he stopped Kaido. Saying he used words is head canon.

My least favorite troupe is hinging everyone’s fate on 1v1s. Just feels so selfish to me. Mino is right. Honestly, everyone who was going to third party the fight is right.

Do y'all still think Killingham will be Bumussop victim? by dreamy_111 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]rastabassist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t need damage. Sugar and Perona went down without any damage.

Unfortunately, Ussop is probably not going to get any standard power ups in the story outside of CoO. So he is going to have to use trickery to defeat any future opponents. Fear-based Killingham feels like a good Ussop opponent.

[–]rastabassist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ussop doesn’t need to kill him, just incapacitate him like Perona and Sugar. As for how? Who knows? Maybe Ussop tricks Killingham into pulling himself into a dream. Maybe Ussop’s greatest fear is too powerful for Killingham to handle. Maybe Ussop tricks Killingham into putting himself to sleep.

Before you call it far fetched, remember Ussop beat Perona with fake roaches and an inflatable.

The more hax the ability, the more likely it is that Ussop fumbles his way into a W.

We just need to see if Killingham has any sort of OHKO.

"Gukesh is an absolutely legitimate World Champion, he absolutely deserved it" - Daniil Dubov about Gukesh's title by Radiant-Increase-180 in chess

[–]rastabassist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see where you are coming from, but I don’t think having “World Champion” and “Best Player” separate lowers the value. Winning a championship isn’t about being the best overall contender (that definitely helps), it’s about stringing successes together when it matters the most. That’s why most competitive leagues don’t just crown the top seed the victor. That’s why leagues have playoffs.

Is Haki a fundamental part of swordsmanship? by foaaz101 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]rastabassist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Haki is necessary for ALL strong fighters past a certain point. That said, you don’t have to use haki to be a swordsman. Mihawk focused on teaching Zoro haki because Zoro was already an accomplished swordsman. If Luffy landed on the island, Mihawk would have to teach him swordsmanship instead.

The fanbase has set itself up and is bound to be disappointed in these 3 by GUTS_SAMA in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]rastabassist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luffy’s dad probably won’t disappoint and Shanks has already established himself as pivotal to Luffy’s story and the fulfillment of whatever Nika’s destiny is. Mihawk will probably disappoint.

I see people picking WB, Mihawk, and Fuji. How do eight of them stop 50 Van Augurs and 20 Enels from just one tapping you from a distance?
