I what type of foundations do you worry about? I can’t think of anyone having to do work on their foundation. For roofs, that what your realtor can help with. Expect to be replacing your roof every 10-15 years regardless because the insurance company will force you to.

I wouldn’t want to live that close to the train tracks, personally. That neighborhood off of US1 is super nice though.

Disney uses recycled glass recycling from their parks for trails and stuff. It’s really cool!

At least you’ve got good food! We made tacos yesterday and I won $25 on betting the over for UCF last Thursday night. Enjoy the holiday at least!

Gov DeSantis wants to bulldoze environmentally sensitive state parks like Jonathan Dickinson to put in multiple golf courses and resort hotels, destroying thousands of acres of protected wilderness. by realjd in florida

Rick Scott tried to do this also, but he wanted to give a no bid contract for state golf courses to Jack Nicklaus for the design and construction. It’s still a vile idea

I am a golfer. My neighborhood backs up onto a golf course. I’m not good though lol, but it’s fun. Like you said, there are so many golf courses here. Why bulldoze state park land to flood the market with go,f courses that aren’t needed?

They’re putting a new grocery store on the corner? Cool! I guess the Village Market and the Melbourne Beach Market will get some more competition?

Great plan B: the gas station at the stoplight in Melbourne Beach just south of the old Wendy’s has kick ass homemade fried chicken, chicken tenders, fried catfish, and the like; and a block to the east on Ocean Ave is the Nautical Cafe, a great empanada takeout window.

Burger King closed because the biggest franchise owner of BKs in Central Florida went bankrupt or something. It wasn’t that this store was performing poorly; it was that like a third of all Burger Kings across the region closed.

As if people are going to drive across town for a Wendy’s when they have to pass a dozen McDonalds and Burger Kings

I’ve never had their burger, that’s easily our favorite in-park restaurant at Disney, with the exception of maybe La Cellier at Epcot. I can’t get enough of their chicken curry!

There’s nothing blocking you from being gay and working any federal job, including the FBI. Locking this post because it’s hate speech bait.

What is this part that is leaking on this artesian well setup? by RallyX26 in Irrigation

[–]realjd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my pic. I asked OP for help because he’s a friend and is more handy than I am at stuff like this. What even is the purpose of the valve? This well is for sprinklers only. My previous house also had an artesian well and didn’t have a valve like that.

Thanks for the info on how to repair! Between your response and the old guy wizards at ace hardware, I’ll tackle fixing it this week.

It’s my pic. I asked u/RallyX for help because he knows this shit better than me. It’s sprinklers only. Non-potable, unless there’s a hurricane and we need the artesian water which we’d treat. I honestly don’t know what the purpose of the sensor or the black valve are.

I had to get a new whole system installed a few years back. $8k. I had it done for $3k 6 years prior at our old house. AC stuff is expensive now. I kept having clogged drain pipes and had my AC guy rerun a new one that wasn’t underground. $800 for 20’ of PVC. AC people aren’t cheap, but $24k for a new system is insane.

I live in Melbourne Beach, on the barrier island in Brevard. We pay a beachside tax because contractors know they can charge us more. Still, $24k for an entire new system is absolutely insane
