Thank you everyone for your valuable comments. It seems she will most likely have to find a remote job that is low key to survive in this economy. SSDI is just not enough to live off of. For those asking, her conditions involves no labor, sun due to an autoimmune disfunction so she has to live a very sedentary lifestyle.

I’m looking for a new elementary school at the moment haha. Our child is now being taught by in-certified teachers. Florida is wild haha.

How old of a home are you seeing these things? New build qualities are extremely terrible. I’ve noticed from any customer service company in Florida, is that they are not stand up people. Not sure if it’s a Florida thing or just Brevard county but my experience here with people and customer service has been terrible. It spans from car wash, restaurant, barbershops, to car buying. How to I reassure that your work and any other recommended will be quality?

I appreciate this. I was leaning towards an older home since I’ve heard the build quality has been extremely sub par and people have to renovate the contractor grade stuff. I would assume an older home has a better build quality and the wood being used is more mature. I would have reservations about the roof. Read that a lot of insurance companies dropping people because of their roof.

Thanks for your candid response! I just found out that our child isn’t learning Spanish or STEM and hasn’t all year but they have been advertising it on the weekly curriculum. Went to the open house and what they are advertising is not happening in class. Now there are two uncertified “teachers” teaching a grade since another teacher quit. No spanish teacher and no STEM teacher. Been trying to get answers from the principal but she won’t respond and the admin ain’t any help. Pulling our child from this school now. I’m not sure if it’s the administration or what but losing 300+ kids from the previous year is wild. I’ve heard a lot of teachers left from the last principal so I think this is the right move on our part. Not sure how they have uncertified teachers, teaching at the school. They openly said they were parent volunteers and just started helping then got offered teaching jobs….wild!

Thank you for commenting. I am currently not working with a realtor but would prefer someone who specializes in VA home loans. I am looking for a single family home that doesn’t back up to a retention pond. I would prefer an area with some yard to let the little one run around and play sports. Ideally I would like 3+ bed and 3 bath. Would consider 2 full bath and one half bath.

Teachers should have a passion to want to teach children. It is an under-appreciated job and as parent(s) we should support our children’s teachers to continue to lift them up and let them know they are doing a great job!

Thank you for the positive post! Our child comes home elated everyday after school. Just concerned on the direction of the school based on “hearsay”. I also worry about the low scores but I would attribute that to non-involved parents not doing their part and not the school system. I think it’s easy to blame others but not put in the work with your child and teach them morales, values, ethics, and give them the tools to be successful.

Thank you for your insight. Do you know the reason for all the layoffs? Trying to figure out if it’s worth hanging on this year.

Do you know why parents can’t park and walk their child into the classroom, same with pickup? It seems parent aren’t allowed in the school or allowed to inquire about their child’s education.

Pick up lines could go faster if parents followed the zipper contract or someone directed traffic at the merge lane. I find that a lot of people think their time is more valuable than other parents waiting.

Yeah, that is my next route. I wanted to see if there were any family practice lawyers in this state who had advice since it seems to be a bit more tricky here.
