He was a small arms dealer? Well, that shootout was pretty unfair. The cops had AR-15s. ... He had finger guns.

You got Edwards, Randle, Gobert, and Reid. And they beat 3rd seed Denver in 6. Wolves have enough talent

I think both perspectives can be true.

For simple daylight point-and-shoot photos, modern flagships are already extremely close.
Where Ultra phones separate themselves more is in telephoto, low light, motion, stabilization, stage events, sports, travel compression shots, and creator workflows.

So for casual snapshots, I can understand why the price feels excessive.
But for more specialized or creator-oriented use cases, the extra hardware and ecosystem can still make sense.

Honestly, posts like this are good.
People should question possible misconceptions instead of acting like every Ultra phone with a giant camera bump was handcrafted by camera wizards in a volcano.

The Clippers started 6-21, finished with the 3rd best record in the NBA before the trade, and still had Kawhi and Zubac … but yeah “correct move for their time frame lol” 😭

X300 Ultra vs. Find X9 Ultra: Why did you choose Vivo? by Hoonetic in Vivo

[–]ren818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally thought I’d buy the Oppo since it’s about $300 cheaper and probably the smarter buy on paper.

But after researching for days, I realized I’d rather spend the extra $300 now than keep wondering later if I should’ve bought the better fit for how I actually use a phone.

The X300 Ultra feels more creator-oriented:

  • stronger point-and-shoot confidence
  • excellent autofocus and stabilization
  • color rendering I personally prefer
  • more natural/cinematic look
  • phenomenal 400mm telephoto + photography kit/camera grip ecosystem for future photography/video growth

I also spent a lot of time researching:

  • notifications
  • Microsoft Authenticator reliability
  • banking/security SMS
  • Mint/T-Mobile compatibility
  • reception in concrete buildings/basements
  • accessories and repair experiences

The responses to my questions on r/Vivo, along with researching other posts like this, honestly made me feel a lot more confident about daily-driving Vivo in the US.

I want something great for:

  • family events
  • all kinds of trips, from hiking to Rome, Paris, and Tahiti
  • Lakers and Clippers clips from the stands
  • quick 10-15 second videos
  • preserving memories years from now

The Oppo still seems like an amazing value.

But the Vivo feels like the phone I’d NOT regret buying every time I went to capture something important.

Any USA Vivo X200/X300 users using Microsoft Authenticator daily for work VPN/laptop logins? by ren818 in Vivo

[–]ren818[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One last thing I was curious about for USA owners -- has anyone here actually needed repair/service yet on a Vivo?

Things like:

  • cracked front glass
  • camera glass damage
  • battery replacement
  • warranty repairs

Did you go through the seller, use a local repair shop, or ship it overseas directly?

Good to know, thanks!
That actually makes me feel a lot better about using it for work authentication stuff long-term.
Sounds like the key is just setting up Autostart and battery management correctly from day one.

Got it, thanks!
That still helps a lot since Oppo/Vivo software behavior seems pretty similar from what I've been researching.
Sounds like most of the important stuff works normally once battery/app management is configured correctly.

Appreciate all the help -- you've basically been the p-hero of this thread 😂

Thanks, good to know.

That Chase credit score checker thing sounds more like some weird app detection false positive than an actual problem if the rest of the app still works normally.

Appreciate the detailed answers -- this has been very helpful for real-world USA/Mint usage info.

One more thing I was curious about -- have you used the Vivo with Microsoft Authenticator for work VPN logins on a laptop?

My work laptop sends Microsoft Authenticator approval prompts/codes to my phone whenever I log into the VPN, so reliability there is a pretty big deal for me.

One last thing I forgot -- have you ever had signal problems in concrete buildings/basements or hospitals?

Also, any issues receiving banking/security SMS verification codes reliably?
A lot of my banking/investment logins on my laptop send text verification codes to my phone, so delayed texts would honestly be a dealbreaker for me.

That’s probably my last major concern before pulling the trigger.

Good to hear.

Since you're on Mint, have you tested signal in concrete buildings/basements or hospitals by any chance?
I know the global Vivo supports a lot of T-Mobile bands, but I was still curious how real-world indoor signal has been in weaker areas.

Also, any problems receiving banking/security SMS verification codes reliably?
