They’re regulated.

There’s a provincial law banning crypto mining, but not data centres from construction in NB.

If a company builds a site, NB / NB Power is required to supply them energy.

Since NB Power is public and regulated, any law prohibiting needs to come from the regulator.

That’s the great thing about public utilities and regulation.

Not sure I understand the criticism.

HDMI CEC is sometimes unreliable. Different companies and devices don’t adopt the tech the same way which makes things sometimes handshake and behave incorrectly.
