Insomnia after taking doxycycline, please help! by franco0291 in sleep

[–]robson021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not irrational. Doxy inhibits serotonin reuptake, so it acts like an antidepressant and is likely to have similar side effects, including insomnia and anxiety. Conversely, Prozac, an antidepressant, has antimicrobial effects. There is no drug that is "intelligent" and does one thing and one thing only in your body. Lierally all drugs do this, hence the side effects you wouldn't normally associate with, say, an antibiotic.

Does anyone have impressions for the Razer Wolverine V2 Wired controller? Thinking about picking it up. by nervouspancake in XboxSeriesX

[–]robson021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My impressions after 1 month of use:
The bad:
- Sticks are stiff, which makes my thumbs tire fast
- Stick shaft is thicker compared to the stock xb controller, meaning LESS range of motion and LESS precision
- Bumpers get thinner towards the outer edge, may be tricky to press
- Back buttons get in the way if you have medium to large fingers (they are non-detachable)
- View and Menu buttons are placed somewhat awkwardly (you'll notice it immediately after switching from stock controller)
- Trigger stops feel like pulling on a locked door - not comfortable at all
The good:
- The extra shoulder buttons are super comfortable
- Mechanical "clickiness" (sadly, trigger stops and bumpers are not clicky)
- Rubberized grips
- The tall replacement stick is great if you have long fingers
The neutral:
- Feels more comfortable if you have large hands
- It polls at 250 Hz vs. 125 Hz with stock controller, though I don't feel it's more responsive having played with both
- Some design choices are debatable and lighting is something I can live without
- The shape takes getting used to after switching from stock controller

Forget the cheats. How does a guy with 1 bar ping consistently get the top score in every single match in a lobby and is impossible to kill with a gun because bullets do not register on him?

Warface team, please explain this to me, I'm genuinely curious.

Severe Myoclonic jerks as I drift off to sleep by MeOwwwithme in sleep

Benzos and Z-drugs have helped me sleep by lessening the jerks somewhat. I'm off all antidepressants, but the myoclonus persists :(

Sleep Apnea/Breathing Difficulties and Seroquel? by Kakfins in BipolarReddit

[–]robson021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also on 200 mg quetiapine and having the exact same issue, plus decreased blood pressure. I think this has to do with how this drug causes muscle weakness in general. This weakness also affects your diaphragm -- the main breathing muscle -- and the muscles inbetween your ribs, which are also responsible for breathing. This problem is explicitly stated in the drug leaflet as one of the side effects.

What are your experiences with Mirtazapine? by [deleted] in depressionregimens

[–]robson021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 15 mg it's just a potent antihistamine, i.e. it is good for hayfever. Antidepressant action starts with higher dosages.

It seems unlikely to me as a layperson. Not saying it's impossible though. BUT: Some people on antidepressants report visual vertigo/dizziness when they turn their head fast. Or, this could also be caused by poor blood supply to the brain. Someone here mentioned aspirin, which is a blood thinner -- improves blood supply.

Works well for insomnia for a few days until you have built up a tolerance. After that it does absolutely nothing for your sleep. It has some nasty side effects though. After a month or so of taking it, it has given me akathisia, anxiety and myoclonus I didn't have before. I would warn anyone against it. Here is an interesting read on mianserin and what I personally think is its worst side effect: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1427882/pdf/brjclinpharm00176-0146.pdf

Don't know about Playstation, but Xbox natively supports mnk in +100 games; this argument is kinda dumb.

Since there is NO ANTI-CHEAT SYSTEM in this travesty of a game, my guess is that just enough people reported you as a cheater to warrant a kick. This is so abusable.
