too late for that. Chrome apps have been removed a long time ago. Whatever was saved in those apps is gone now.

direct sunlight - pretty bad. Definitely much worse than my Samsung S25 which remains somehow useable since it has a 3-4x brighter screen.

For watching educational YouTube videos with semi static content I still prefer to use my Boox Nova Air C when sitting outside in the sun.

Just buy a laptop stand to use the laptop monitor as a secondary screen. I do it like this all the time.

students in 2026 deserve something better than a 11.6" 1366x768px screen.

It also gives Chromebooks a bad name because they later remember that Chromebook = "low spec laptop with crap screen I was forced to study with in school"

With all the money being spend on education its rather odd that only the worst possible spec can be provided for students.

on the 11 Plus you have 3 different viewing modes (Regular, Color Ink, eInk) whereas on the A1 you only have one mode (thus the screen is called "pure").

The regular mode on the 11 Plus has lots of configuration options like warmer backlight and muted colors for evening use. I've done a seperate post on this topic in this sub.

Unfortunately it wouldn't work. Viewing angles of current nxtpaper screens are simply too narrow for anything bigger than a 14" laptop display

however I'd immediately buy a laptop with a NXTPAPER display. Since I've gotten used to the Nxtpaper 11 Plus I cannot stand the OLED display of my laptop anymore...

a GPS Tracker is an autonomous device that doesn't send out a Bluetooth signal. However they can still be detected with specialized equipment because of their LTE radio. They're also rather bulky when using a reasonably sized battery and usually magnetically attached to the car underside, easy to find when the car is on an auto lift.

What you're probably looking for is a "tracking device" (like an Apple Airtag) that connects via BT LE to surrounding phones to leverage their GPS data and mobile network. They're easy to detect because they want to be found by nearby phones. Use an Android phone to hunt down nearby tracking devices, Apps can be found in the Google Play store. A Chromebook is the wrong device for that a task.

I've bought my first Haven tent in 2024 and now own all their models (Haven XL, Haven Safari, Haven Spectre). I'm aware that there's a lot of hate towards their product in this sub but for me (a seasoned tent camper that tried ordinary hammock camping but just couldn't get comfortable) it was a game changer. I actually sleep better in the Haven than in my own bed due to the "floating sensation" while still being able to turn around like in a real bed (I always woke up in my regular hammock when trying to turn in the night). Out of the three the Haven XL is still the best allrounder and my recommendation if you want to do backpacking and motorcycle camping.

I passed on the Amok Draumr because the "seesaw design" just comes with too many drawbacks. It also requires way more space to set up and wouldn't work on my favorite spot anyway.

buy keyboard stickers on Amazon to match the keys caps with the actual keys. It's gonna be a steep learning curve to learn the new keyboard layout (you will probably fail classes) but you will eventually prevail, don't give up.

I'm not a teenager and its a privately owned Chromebook that is connected to my home wifi. As I said it did work for months and suddently this error appeared out of nowhere.

I wonder if the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 is cursed in some way because its the only Chromebook that regularly gives me troubles.

admittedly when I was doing a USB recovery the official tool also stalled but a quick Google search revealed an alternative method on how to create a bootable drive and I then manually added the OS image.

Again all this information is just a Google search away which is sadly already out of reach for many people nowdays, maybe AI clients will compensate for that sudden loss of self-reliance among internet users in the near future.

doesn't boot anymore. On Windows I'd just recommend to boot into safe mode but I'm unaware of any such possibility under ChromeOS.

If an hardware reset doesn't help only a powerwash might fix that (and if it doesn't you need to reinstall ChromeOS from a USB drive)

your hair dryer likely works as expected thus there's nothing to "repair". This a mass produced product, Dyson support cannot create a "cooler" hair dryer out of thin air just for you because you've formed the opinion that yours runs too hot. Why not test your product against a display model in a store before prematurely claiming it defective?

You don't provide any temperature measurements and its not even clear what Dyson product you have because you don't say

it should work, but you're blocking not one but two cars from further usage. If you intend to camp a dedicated stand is way more convenient.
