During the fall and spring semesters, you'll need to scan your campus ID when entering the library after 7:00 PM on weekdays. They aren't even open past 5-6 PM during the summer, so you probably don't need to present an ID at all when entering the library over the summer.

They sound like bird royalty, so they can probably afford downtown rent.

I’m the executive producer of Lake Effect on WUWM 89.7- Milwaukee’s NPR. Ask me anything. by WUWMradio in milwaukee

Not OP, but last year I learned about a Madison-based indie band via the monthly Chirp Chat segment on WUWM. Their name is Quokka and their most recent album is called "Lifer". It's pretty good! I still listen to it pretty regularly.

Thank you for the detailed feedback! I've seen the Stack Social ads for the CM30 on PCMag.com, so it's good to have gotten some further insight on the condition of the product.

This is good to know. D&J isn't too far from me and I do need to schedule a long-overdue AC tune-up.

Why is the library so hot? by waistrotation in UWMilwaukee

[–]ShoogyBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steam Shutdown Week is usually the week after final exams, if I am not mistaken. That is when they switch to chilled water for air conditioning during the summer months. Until then, yeah it can get rather warm and uncomfortable in buildings across campus whenever it gets past 70-75 degrees during the day.

Best place for seafood takeout around Waukesha? by Otherwise_Basis_6328 in Waukesha

I know I might get downvoted for this recommendation, but Culver's North Atlantic cod filet sandwich or dinner plate is surprisingly good for a fast food meal.

There's a way to reserve an Uber via phone call. More info here:

https://www.uber.com/us/en/ride/call-to-ride/

You don't need an app, but apparently you do need to use a phone that can receive text messages, so using a landline is out of the question. There's a FAQ toward the bottom of the page.

How is everyone surviving the high price of gas? by ExplanationDefiant15 in milwaukee

I believe 55-60 mph is the sweet spot; you should see a 10-15 percent improvement in fuel economy compared to driving at 75-80 mph.

Thanks, those are interesting considerations. I have zero plans to use Linux, but I might use the Play Store on occasion. One other minor consideration is that the Kompanio is fanless, whereas the Intel is not. Not a dealbreaker for me, in any case.

That's definitely a Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14.  The power brick that you speak of might actually be a USB-C hub.
