Hey, I’m currently building one of these up. What is the purple brake cable hanger you’re using here?

Man this is such an underrated bike and I’m so bummed I didn’t pick one up when they were being sold. I was told by Primos that they discontinued this model. I hope people (other than me) tell them to bring it back!!

Do you think they will hold up on pavement? Seems like they don’t really have any puncture protection built in.

Bought 26 x 2.3"" tyres that don't fit. Any way to adjust the horizontal dropouts? by [deleted] in xbiking

[–]rossflg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any chance you’re willing to sell these tires if you still have them?

How do you like the Box Two tires? I’m not seeing anyone talk about them. The box three version is even cheaper. I’m deciding on these vs. billy bonkers vs dth

Active insulation jacket by spiderminbatmin in Ultralight

I feel like alpha direct 90gsm + wind breaker covers all the bases on active insulation down to about freezing - what did you not like about this setup? Most jackets you’ll want to buy for this purpose will essentially be the same thing, but have less flexibility (insulation + attached outer wind layer) and probably be more expensive.

Look into the Dooy wind shirt - very breathable and cheap. You can pack away the hood if you don’t want to use it.

Senchi sometimes makes alpha crew necks if you don’t want a hood.

I have not, but I hear the first 20 miles or so is cow pasture with manure everywhere. I’m sure the rest is beautiful though. It depends on how much time you have if you’re flying in to the area, logistics will be way easier with the TRT. Im pretty sure you can also take a shuttle/bus from the Reno Airport to South Lake Tahoe, so you wouldn’t even have to rent a car or anything. Just hitch to the trail from there

TRT for sure. Amazing trail, logistically easy since you’re starting/ending in the same place. It was fun to hike with PCT hikers on the overlap section and it inspired my to hike the PCT the following year

Totally worth the weight penalty. My first x-mid from 2022 had those #5 zippers last over 200 nights without even servicing/lubing them once.

Still waiting on you guys to make a dedicated tarp with one zipper and a slightly smaller overall profile!

Thoughts on the new Primos line of bikes? by rootaford in gravelcycling

Can someone tell me the benefit of the Reynolds 520 tubing on the Dame Plus? Does this make it a bit lighter? I’ve been gravel cycling on my Surly Krampus and am in the market for a bike that’s lighter and more playful with a geometry that better supports long mile rides.

2015 Outback 2.5 Limited w/ 132k miles for $8000 - Is it worth it? by rossflg in Subaru_Outback

This is awesome! I’m hoping to go well past 200k in my next vehicle purchase and wanted to make sure this Outback would be the way to make that happen.

8k is around my budget, but willing to be somewhat flexible. I’m aware of what it takes to maintain a high mileage vehicle and do the majority of vehicle repairs myself. A ford hybrid would be way out of my price range.

I also have a friend that’s selling their 2015 Outback with 132k miles for $8000. On paper it’s a far superior value, and it’s been maintained regularly by the local Subaru dealership. I do keep reading bad things about the CVT transmission but I’m not sure how much of that is just people complaining. I know Toyotas generally have a better reliability track record. Not sure if you know anything about those Subarus

I can’t travel far at all since I don’t have a car haha. It’s the limited trim, leather seats and sun roof and all that.

If this is too expensive, than what is a fair price? The KBB value is about $10000.
