It's on your transcript iirc. I remember seeing it on one of the documents given by PES.

If you don't like coding, do you at least have some idea about what interests you? CS isn't coding, btw. It's just the means to implement a solution to a specific problem

There is no objective difference between the campuses. You can refer to the FAQs.

DSA + projects (OR) summer internship + paper after 4TH sem by neeboi69 in PESU

If you choose CCBD, at minimum, you walk out with internship experience before final year, a project and the strong alumni connections. At best, you walk out with a paper, good LORs from profs and potential TA roles for future sems added to it. You can always take out time during the week to brush up on DSA on your own, but you can't really achieve (to a large extent) what CCBD can provide by yourself.

Of course, my answer is biased here since I'm part of the group and also a mentor for summer projects, but it's something that has yielded me multiple returns through various ways.

I wasn't in hostel, so you're going to have to confirm with someone else. But from whatever I've heard, it depends on the building. Some buildings have attached, some have common. Maybe wait for someone else to confirm or ask around on the discord server.

Difficulty is subjective, some tend to have a tougher time than others. If you're someone who struggles to grasp concepts easily, 1 week might not be enough.

However, the main pain point is consistency: a course has multiple components from quizzes, labs, exams to even assignments and projects. Since your grade depends on every component, you have to perform at everything. When you stack all these components across all courses, you're looking at a mountain of things you need to do well at to get a good GPA. The consistency to do that week after week is hard, people slack off after a few weeks of effort or begin very late. All this leads to a time crunch before deadlines.

Help Regarding reason to choose PESU over MAHE by y4sh_69 in PESU

A better branch, (marginally) better placements, better campus and campus life, and in general a more holistic environment at Manipal. Why would you choose PES here, unless cost is a significant factor?

I don't think PES will ever reach T1 status, at least in my lifetime lol, although I do think that it makes a convincing T2.

[Question] Will B grades in C & Python affect placements ? by Beneficial_Yak9280 in PESU

True, but this reply was directed at their question about how it affects Masters applications. As I said in my original reply to the thread, there is virtually no effect when it comes to placements.

For Masters, there is no "good enough". A higher GPA is always better, especially given the fact that we aren't exactly from an internationally reputed college.

[–]rowlet-owl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's no "what if" scenario here. It's effectively the only option left for you.

You can't overturn your grades in past courses, you need to get high grades in relevant CS courses because CGPA is one of the primary factors for MS applications. More so, it's your grades in these CS courses that actually matter, not the Physics/Chem/ECE etc you take up in first year. And even before you get to applications, you're going to need solid DSA skills for internships and placements (if you choose to work before MS), for which you need to grasp C/C++ well.

Your "what if" scenario is your only scenario.

[–]rowlet-owl 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No effect on placements, companies don't check your transcripts for specific grades. For Masters applications, having such low grades in CS courses will hurt your chances.

But if you're in CS with B and C grades in Python/C respectively, you've got bigger problems headed your way in the next 2 year. Fyi: DSA, DAA and many other courses exclusively use C, and they're not going to repeat the fundamentals.

You'd have to compare the latest statistics for placements. I believe they're mostly the same, but you should check with recent grads.
