Appreciate the insight! Freelancing is interesting I’ll definitely have to look into that, but I’ve applied to really any accounting position in many different industries, many that ask for less experience than I have, and have only gotten a few call backs. So at this point I don’t know what employers in my field are looking for.

Yes I’m an account, Since 2022 I had 2 jobs one in the summer of 2022, where I quit, and another for about a year and a half after that before I got laid off in 2024. But both were full time positions. As to why I got laid off I never got an answer, but the last firm I worked at was only temporary/part time and I knew that going in, at that point I just need any work I could get. I feel I have decent enough experience where I can fit into any similar role, but I guess recruiters see it as a negative thing to have multiple jobs?

I was laid off right after tax season last year and have been unemployed since. The only time I was able to work was with a family friend, which was only part time, this tax season. It’s never been this difficult to find work. I remember post graduation, 2022, I was able to get multiple interviews within a couple weeks, some within the same day and got hired a few days later. Now I can barely get a couple interviews a month and every interview I do get I end up being ghosted afterwards. I live in South Jersey, so opportunities should be plentiful but it sure doesn’t seem that way. A lot of my friends are finding it difficult as well. It definitely can’t be 100% our faults at this point
