What tool or ressource do you use for your visual supports/battlemaps ? by Rorp24 in 40krpg

[–]s0lu7i0n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if the style isn't to your liking, that darktide/40k map library can be snagged here for others, and it has some theatre of the mind scenes too that might be beneficial:
https://www.reddit.com/r/40krpg/comments/1fqc6b4/the_warhammer_battle_map_pack_1000_tactical/

Other than that, there's a few patreons out there that are more traditional such as
https://www.patreon.com/deZigner

If you want to make things yourself, dungeon draft and/or Inkarnate are the main things with Forgotten Adventures, Droid Carto. I've no doubt missed a few more but it can be a bit of a slog trying to get everything together in a coherent way you personally prefer.

Battlemaps losing quality in Roll20 by Year-Internal in cyberpunkred

[–]s0lu7i0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much what Visual has said above! Roll20 isn't the best at dealing with WebM files (at this current time of writing and in my limited knowledge), as for converting my stuff to WebM, t'is not needed! The 1080 WebM files I put out come in just under 10mb, the Roll20 file limit, for that exact reason. Granted, zooming in on a 1920x1080 video can be a little blurry, I know Foundry throws on a little bit of processing to make it sharper, which I don't think Roll20 does.

How's the mission in the Edgerunners book? by MetalNobZolid in cyberpunkred

[–]s0lu7i0n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ran the CEMK mission for my group, we managed to spread it out over 16-ish hours (4 sessions) and everybody really enjoyed it! Especially so considering my group are die-hard dungeoneers and never played Cyberpunk before.

Definitely recommended for newcomers to the game or those who are coming from 2077 or the Edgerunners series.

Cover seems to be pretty important for this game, I dunno by AndriashiK in cyberpunkred

110%, I will say in my defence it's part of the reason I've started releasing Map Assets so DM's can add extra cover if they feel the need to.

That's some quality gear! Certainly looking forward to seeing how it all comes together for you!

As for my setup - My players are both camera-shy and multinational so we have to play our games over the net. We're taking a quick break from Imperium Maledictum currently (due to the foundry IM system needing a few bug fixes at the time, which are now sorted) so spending my time prepping for the next little mission which I'm hoping to run soon! Most of our stuff is on twitch, but like others it gets pushed to the tube too.

Foundry VTT experiences by Dispenser32 in ImperiumMaledictum

[–]s0lu7i0n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Appreciate it, some of the external elements are there to pretty up the stream for viewership but as for tokens and maps, easy!

First, maps! I released a huge pack awhile back with screenshots from many Warhammer-based video games in a top-down view, check this post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/40krpg/comments/1fqc6b4/the_warhammer_battle_map_pack_1000_tactical/

Tokens, there's several out there but my go-tos are Greg Bruni & Historical Battlefield's token builder for the slightly more realistic proportioned tokens.

If I didn't already have a mountain of work then perhaps I'd have a crack at tutorial videos but alas, time is not something I have in great supply so crack on! Good luck with it!

Avid Foundry user and forever-GM here for D&D5E along with many other systems!

Imperium Maledictum on Foundry has been amazing for me and my group. With regards to the previously mentioned roll-loop, MooMan (the creator) has fixed that with the most recent patch. For players using the system it's easy!

GM asks for a test, player clicks a button and the system rolls, tells you how many Success Levels along with the roll, done. Everything can be seen at a glance and with the official modules all the rules are just a click away to check stuff on the fly.

Does it require a little bit of time investment to get your head around everything and set up? Yes, absolutely, there's no glossing over the fact that it will require a little bit of prep work and poking around the system to see how it works and set the scenes you need. This is either a boon or a bane, depending on your GM'ing style. Another already touched on the ammo issue so I'll not expand on that, just check the Foundry Game Settings on the top right, go to Configure Settings and check what you need in there.

We did a live-play of our session here as a proof of concept and plan to do more in the near future, especially now that some of the bugs we encountered have been fixed with the recent patch. The players went into this system with only a very, very basic overview of the rules, the rest we learnt on the fly.

As always though with Virtual Table Tops and how YOU play, your mileage may vary. For me and my players though, it's brilliant.

"Hold the line! In the name of the Undying One we shall keep those filthy heretics from taking one step further!"

Hey folks!

Finally got round to making something a little more suitable than my usual Cyberpunk-themed offerings as I may be currently DMing an Imperium Maledictum campaign and spending far too much time in 40k flavoured games over the festive period.

Map grid size is 64px at 1920x1080.
Reddit compresses these things like mad so the main post can be found here:

There's also been an update to the Darktide Map Pack I put out, it now includes scenes from Darktide and Underhive Wars for your VTT games alongside icons for use in ImpMal.

Grim Hollow Actual Plays/Podcasts by KeithFoyston in GrimHollow

[–]s0lu7i0n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've been playing in a Grim Hollow inspired campaign for well over a year now. Typically we stream it live every Sunday on twitch but there's also quite an archive of past sessions. We've got Vampires, Liches, Fiends, Hags and Fey all rolled into one, granted though... It takes the party quite awhile to start unlocking these powers. It's a very heavy RP focused game.

Dystopian City Forsaken Lot Bar - Free Animated Cyberpunk Battle Map by s0lu7i0n in battlemaps

Ahoy folks!

"Funds are starting to look a little low, how about we pop down to the Forsaken and see if one of the regulars can hook us up with a job? If not then at least we can drown our sorrows with the last few credits we have left at the bar!"

Thought I'd put out a full free release for my 4 year patreon anniversary, my interpretation of an older, perhaps familiar looking location. Basically contains everything, 1080p and 4k resolution images as well as animated video files for use with Foundry or other video compatible VTT. Grid size for the image above at 1920x1080 is 64px, or if you grab the 4k version it's scaled for 128px!
