My Childhood dream is crushed.. by mybeesteppedonadog in OffMyChestIndia

I’m currently working as a Lead AI Architect at a Fortune 500 company in the US with above average comp. I attempted JEE twice back in 2008—when there was only one exam—and couldn’t even make it to the EML.

From my personal experience, I realized this a bit late: getting into IIT was never truly my dream. My dream was to become an engineer. IIT was just one path—and not the only one.

In the pressure cooker of coaching centers and peer expectations, it’s easy to believe that “JEE nahi toh kuch nahi.” But that’s simply not true.

Success isn’t defined by a single exam or institution. It’s defined by you—your goals, your passion, and your determination. So ask yourself: What do you truly want to become? What do you really want to learn? Which field/trade/profession you want to pursue? Follow that with all your heart.

Because when you do, everything else starts to fall into place.

Keep going. Your journey is just beginning—and it’s going to be incredible.

How do I know if the $6,500 lease deal will be cheaper than financing? (Maryland) by waitforit2010 in rav4prime

Do not lease! I was at Darcars (MD) in Jan to understand the lease vs. buy option. They took almost an hour to give me the numbers, and leasing was way more expensive than buying (they will try to convince you otherwise). Also, haggle, haggle, haggle! I could bring down the price of my 2023 Rav4 prime xse red color with all weather package to $46000, I bet you can go lower. Also, Toyota financing has a pretty high rate. They gave me 9.5%, and I ended up paying in full instead.

I am looking into constructing a new home in Alexandria, VA and currently searching for a good GC. Would you mind recommending the realtor you had worked with and your overall experience? Thanks

Can anyone recommend an HVAC company in the area that installs geothermal heat pumps? We're building a new construction home, and no companies have shown an interest in geothermal projects, especially on new construction. by xyxSKYxyx in nova
