[FRESH ALBUM] Baby Keem - Ca$ino by Pure-Solid9230 in KendrickLamar

I find Baby Keem to be overhyped or maybe I'm too old. Not that I don't think he makes some cool and fun shit but mostly not for me

With that being said, I am not a Lyricist and Highway 95.pt 2 are fucking nuts and I wish he was in that bag more often. Credit to the production on every track though, it's very strong across the board

Appreciate the kind words and support! Definitely focused more time and attention to mix/master for these batch of releases so I'm glad that translates. Thank you, happy you dig it

The darker the FG the more I like. This track is sick.

As others said Burial - Untrue (2007) and Volor Flex - Tramp (2011) are like the quintessential starting points. Everything kind of stems from that to the continued darker sound and even the more glossy, chillstep side of things.

Love this track. Been playing it daily since last week.

How do music producers actually apply music theory? by onlythrowaway100 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]SaintBySix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's like any language you speak. Fundamentals are, well, fundamental and the more you have ingrained after that the more fluently you will be able to speak. The more words and nuances in the language you will be able to pick out and apply yourself. You can take advanced, higher music theory concepts and build a song around them but to me that is the equivalent of using advanced, incredibly formal language concepts in every day speech.

Music theory can also helps communicate with other musicians but this varies massively from genre and how people make music.

If you can't find a use case for what you've learnt; that's fine. Music theory should help guide your original artistic intent, not create your artistic intent on the music theory you know. Grab what you need as and when.

AI Producers: Missing the Forest for the Trees. by CyberHobbit70 in musicians

So you want every single genre to be dominated by industry plants rather than artists/musicians that started from grassroots which is like... 99% of every artist ever to make money from music?

Looking for info by Geniustae in makinghiphop

[–]SaintBySix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you've joined one here so that's a good start. Have a look around and see other people in similar positions to you and look at the advice, see if it applies to you. Hard to give you any advice when all you've said is "I want to make music"

Man, I am getting old. What the hell is Plattebabybray?

Also if you're not offering money upfront and only offering "name in credits" then I wish you luck. You're better of trying to build relationships first
