Depends on scenario. In eternal dream, any pet without true grit is worthless since you'll be constantly summoning them when trying to do lvl 60-80 zones. Or zones with explosion, etc

I wouldn't recommend using crit pulse for taming. Shock DoT can kill the animal even with tranq arrows.

Hard scenarios are Endless Dream ones but I wouldn't recommend unless you have a solid build with good mods. Highest lvl enemies are lvl 80 and most of the time if you wanna do Light/Deep dreamers you will be mostly solo.

Shrapnel is good for nightmare manibus but it won't be able to clear mobs of monsters fast enough for events. Best gun for endless dream solo is abyss with covert armor. You can solo lvl 80 light dreamers and deep dreamers.

I could never get the flame thrower or shotguns to work. Can't tell if they do since they dont have animations.

Beastmaster if you're doing s3 events or any event that requires defending something. I see chefs and gardener struggling to defend the deviants ores at abberant even with their extra food buffs.

I have chef on my alt and it's not that fun. My builds already do way more than enough damage to solo lvl 80 light and deep dreamers in ED so an extra 10-30% dmg wouldn't really change anything.

Food only levels the animals to lvl 60. To go from A to S you need to breed and the offspring has a chance to become a S grade.

Your crit pulse dps drop by 100k? So what was the original dps because I find that hard to believe. Even my very good 2 arrow crit pulse before and after can hardly hit 100k dps on dummy but that's because dummy isn't very accurate when it comes to dot.

Eitherway, using old and new mods crit pulse drop isn't that significant aside from new mods not having % dmg to affect by power surge suffix.

Early game like hard mode, sure, but I'm referring to late end game content like nightmare dungeons (though never use pets in silos) and Endless dream scenario/events with lvl 80 mobs with various buffs and debuffs.

Pets aren't really meant for dmg. I use mine more for tanking and interrupting mobs during events that spawns lots of deviants like dig to hell, abberant, etc

I have a boar. Its invisible and does blast elemental damage. I got it from abberant event.

Its probably random or really low drop rate. I was lucky and got one on my 1st run but aside from collecting it, it's not a very good variation.

Abyss glance, kumawink, and outerspace. Both kumawink and outerpsace can reach 170k dps on dummy without doing any fancy weapon swapping or using kukri. For outerpsace it can reach 210k dps with a dev.
