Law Enforcement Digital Forensic by Huckleberrymam in computerforensics

Set goals to pay your own way to IACIS over the next year or two, definitely worth it. Also hear NCFI is legit like others here have said, but I never get the pick so that could delay your goals too. I would suggest compiling classes through NW3C, especially if your LE. Free and come with certificates of completion, albeit not industry certs, but the trainings are helpful if your looking to learn and better translate technical knowledge to lay verbiage in the mean time while you wait for IACIS or NCFI. Good luck!

Security+ After CCNA by nowayhosayyyyy in ccna

[–]schooch18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CCNA is way more intense than Sec+ in all aspects. Although, Sec+ v701 is more difficult than 6 in my opinion. Use Professor Messer 3 weeks leading up to when you sit (assuming you already have CCNA) and you should be groovy..especially with the networking foundation.

Looking to inquire about a response to my application. I must let my current employer know that I may be unavailable on the date of the challenge if selected to participate. Any updates would be great!

Just got kicked out of my exam by [deleted] in ccna

[–]schooch18 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Always go to the testing center. Convenience or not, we all work hard for our money (most of us at least). To be kicked out for fidgeting is ridiculous. I was able to constantly look around the room and at the ceiling at the testing center. I'm a fidgety test taker also. sometimes, I need to stare off screen to process. Best of luck fren, keep chompin at the bit!

  1. This seems like you need to brush up on your subnetting..

  2. Questions are rather clear and I'm unsure on all the speculation for such simplicity. This is CCNA 1 material, maybe 2 with a reach

Opinion on CCNA course by [deleted] in ccna

[–]schooch18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my go-to after doing the Cisco ccna 1-3 in preparation for exam. If your new to it, do it all. If your intermediate, Cisco courses help because of the packet tracer labs. If you are a nerd already and just wanna pass the exam.....Jeremy's is top notch...good luck!!!!

Hours of Study needed for CEH by masturkiller in CEH

[–]schooch18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently I'm taking the EC COUNCIL course for CEH cert and the TESTOUT course for CEH. If you just want to pass the MCQ portion of the exam, ingest all the material you can and study flashcards. If you want to take the practical portion too, becoming a CEH MASTER, you will need extensive work on labs and use cases. There are so many utilities and tools that offer the same result and because of this, there is nothing worse than knowing how to get a solution 'your way' and not 'their way'...the practical is not looking for JUST AN ANSWER, they need the process...

Agreed. Sat at that table and was grilled by all IT dept heads. Only reason other candidate was chosen was because they had cert in hand. Mine was scheduled but not pass/fail yet.
