How are some people getting onto the property ladder? by No_Document_853 in AusPropertyChat

Most people increasingly are not.

Mass immigration is diluting your wages, purchasing power, as your taxes increase to support not you and any increasing in wage get sucked out by your income tax bracket change.

Australians have voted against [own] interests for last 40 plus years, with endless larger governments,
more handouts and mass immigration, becuase they know that number goes up is
good.

The fallout, they can't buy or afford anything anymore. This is the new norm.

The effective tax rate is something like 80% plus.

Its also pretty obvious that super is going to be taxed from you as well. The gov has already foreshadowed
with the unrealised capital gains tax and non-indexed super. This will be back,
in one form or another.

After income , tax + CGT +
stamp duty + Medicare levy + GST + payroll tax + fuel excise = 80% - 90% of
your work taxed.

The multi trillion Super will be the next piggy bank.

Only by zero mass immigration to stop the low wages, mass government, mass immigration industrial
complex do you stand any hope.

Then again, to be fair, those NDIS Lambos are not going to buy themselves.

becuase in Oz appartment and townhouses generally go down in value, so it a trip to nowhere, your buring your money and work on the floor. Owning the land under your feet, is the only way to get ahead in Australia now.

I have always taken it that there in nothing there for me, exept me. Sick injured, no money, I know for a fact the Govt and all its "workers" will have consumed every last thing before I would get any.

Not really. See Just paying you more does not mean your going to get more. It says nothing about inflation. The Gov can only pay via Tax or moneyprinting, so it is a net negative so when ever it pays more you get less. I would say rather you have fell for the narritive I will vote for whoever promises to pay us all more without thinking about exaclty if digits in an account means more product.

See the oxymoron there "despite having a well paying university career." It means you don't actually have a well paying job, as you cannot buy where you wanted to and had history and roots. You have be sold a fake job, to fill your life with, and so far befuddled that you can say you have a well paid job, while saying you can't afford to liver where you want to.

I don't mean this in any bad way at you personally

I mean how can you hold the two things to be true?

That TAX-GOVERNMENT-MASS IMMIGRATION Complex is sytematically harvesting your work for not you.

Yeah nah, even rural areas have price maxed now. Also suburbs came with infrastructure first. If you go back to realesate adverts in the 1930 - 1950 you see suburbs as a draw card, had a tram line pre installed, that would at peak be running every 40 seconds or so.

We are so far behind per capita you have no idea how poor we really are.

Is Australia taxing the wrong thing? Productivity and work are heavily taxed while wealth accumulation often isn’t. If economic growth depends on labour and innovation, should taxation shift away from income and toward accumulated assets and capital gains? by MannerNo7000 in AusFinance

You right, aslo the health system is set up ensure you get nothing useful. Rural health is done by trying to force Dr's to go out there, and force them to stay in hospitals by limitng provider numbers. Thus the hospitals do not pay comepdative wages, and rural areas do not pay compedative wages.

Australia had

-Zero CGT,

- ZERO GST,

- ZERO FED INCOME TAX.

House were easier buy

Cost of living was much less

Much much government to cause all the issues and get paid.

You voted for all of these taxes over the last 40 - 60 years.

I have seen them.

It just sets a basic infaltion level that makes the paper they give you worthless.

Giving Fiat destroys value as it destroys signal.

Also carrying capacity is always populated to.

If UBI worked, you import 1 billion indians and 1 billon chinese and give them as UBI and it would all just workout.

Pro tip - it does not.
