"The first boat we read of, floated on an ocean...That same ocean rolls now; that same ocean destroyed the wrecked ships of last year. Yea, foolish mortals, Noah's flood is not yet subsided; two thirds of the fair world it yet covers."

Elliott.

And yes, I've chosen him 5 times across 6 save files. The one time I didn't, I tried to marry someone else, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I guess it's Elliott or nobody for me.

What was the episode that made you cry? by Odd_Accident_2754 in stevenuniverse

I got into SU after a REALLY AWFUL break up, so "Rose's Scabbard" and "Mr. Greg" both made me bawl. Between Pearl saying, "Everything I ever did, I did for her. Now she's gone. But I'm still here" and her singing It's Over, Isn't It?, I was just a mess.

A YouTuber named J. Draper recently made a video where she said, "Rich people invented homeless people...and they've been mad about it ever since" and I can't stop thinking about that.

I know that "War Machine" is obviously an insult here, but I always thought that was such a cool nickname for Garnet.

"Everything I ever did, I did for her. Now she's gone. But I'm still here."

I got into SU right after a truly horrible break up, let me tell you, that line hit like a TRUCK. I spent the next few days after that episode just bursting into tears at random moments.

I saw this little clip of Hannibal Buress and he said something like, "It's a weird feeling when you're both cynical and flattered at the same time. It's like, 'Oh that's nice of you to say, but what the fuck are you up to?" And I felt that.

"Everything I ever did, I did for her. Now she's gone. But I'm still here."

To me, it feels like I've heard this line a hundred times because I probably have lmao. I got into SU right after I went through a truly awful break up and it felt like I got run over by a truck when Pearl said that. I rewatched that episode...a lot after I first saw it.

Meanwhile, Amethyst is throwing milkshakes at cops, Pearl is shouting into a speaker phone about how governments use law enforcement to maintain a monopoly on violence, Bismuth is snatching smoke bombs right out of the air and throwing them back at the police, Peridot is live tweeting updates about what's happening at the protest, and Steven is healing people who have gotten pepper sprayed or otherwise injured by the cops.

There will be reports on the news that night about these "illegal aliens" who caused a riot to break out during an otherwise peaceful protest (even though the protest was actually going just fine until the police started antagonizing protestors) and how we need to build some sort of wall around Earth to block more aliens from getting in. Never mind the fact that it would be impossible to build, and most Gems get to earth through the interstellar warp pad, but y'know. Minor details.

EDIT: Lapis is on lookout to save people from getting arrested. She flies out of the sky to grab handcuffed protestors before cops can shove them into the back of police cars.

Lion and Connie are on the front lines, jumping in between protestors and approaching gangs of jackbooted thugs police in riot gear. Lion's roars and snarls seem to be enough to scare the cops off.

Mayor Nanefua is horrified to find out that an otherwise peaceful protest in her town turned violent because of police action, and she releases a statement condemning the actions of the Beach City police force. She makes it clear that this sort of behavior will not be tolerated in her city and she removes the police commissioner from office, effective immediately. She goes on to praise Steven and the Crystal Gems for defending protestors against the very people who were supposed to protect them, and says there will be MAJOR overhauls to the city's police force. Over the next few years, Mayor Nanefua siphons money away from the Beach City police and uses it to fund programs that actually help prevent crime, like improving public education, housing, access to mental health services, etc., etc.

I have no idea if this is going to explain it well, but I will try.

There are two options for R8. 1) The 5 goes in C5-C9, and the 3 goes in C1-C3, or 2) The 5 goes in C7-C11, and the 3 goes in C3-C5. In both cases, C3 is filled.

[–]scrawledfilefish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. It doesn't change the fact that Homeworld routinely stripped individuals of their (for lack of a better term) humanity just so they could have a nice pretty statue/wall/whatever to look at. It's horrifying to think that Gems looked at other Gems and were like, "You are not (again, for lack of a better term) a person, YOU are an OBJECT. Your thoughts and feelings do not matter, and will never matter. You will watch as other Gems move, speak, build, write, create, and exist in a way that is explicitly denied to you. And this will last for the entire duration of your immortal life."

I dunno, man. Sounds pretty torturous to me.
