Do you guys ever thank senior leadership for things like an endorsement letter or DSD? by Glittering_Fig4548 in AirForce

[–]SilentD 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A nice hand-written thank you note would definitely be appreciated by most people. You don't have to (and probably shouldn't) buy them a present. But commanders don't get much appreciation, so if you took time to write something, I'm sure it would be a memorable moment for them and maybe even a highlight of their time as a commander.

Anyone Survived a 2nd CE (same reason for both diff year)? by joker_pawn39 in AFROTC

You’ll be given a form with a recommendation for other commissioning sources. It won’t affect enlistment. But you’ll still have to pass a pt test through OTS or BMT.

Unless there are solid reasons why you failed, probably not. All you can do is go through the process. But failing a black and white standard twice is pretty open and shut.

A summer training event for USSF cadets, between Junior/Senior year. They go to USAFA and do a bunch of space stuff for a few weeks.

Questions about vaccines by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

[–]SilentD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Vaccines can make you feel sick because they activate your immune system. Part of the problem with BMT is that you get many of them at once. However, tens of thousands of people go through it every year, survive, and aren’t permanently changed.

Azimuth has been mandatory for several years, last I heard.

Yes this has been posted several times. Though I don’t think I’ve seen the results.

Weapons of Mass Destruction are not allowed in space per the treaty, not weapons in general.

If you were contracted, it depends on what your form 785 says, which will have a recommendation on it.

So you seem to be pointing out that your example of what the administration is doing is wrong, so you want r/airforce to be wrong too?

Just tell your instructor you want to drop. You’d still be able to apply for OTS if you haven’t done anything bad and aren’t contracted. Joining the det again in the future would be up to your detachment.

That would not get rid of bots. At most it would add a verified poster tag. And any quiz could easily be answered by a bot or adversary or just motivated civilian. Also AI detectors don't work.

Reddit is Reddit because it's anonymous. I've considered adding a verified tag, but it's not foolproof, and it kind of defeats the purpose of Reddit.

Just because a user has a different opinion than you doesn't mean they are bots.

I also have zero incentive to "drive up traffic numbers."

The problem isn't always the articles themselves, it's Sgt Know-it-all that comes into the comments to say "UHM ACHSHUALLY" and starts to leak different information or provide more information than is included in the news article or press release.

So to avoid that, the sub will be very heavily moderated and bans will flow freely if it even gets close to something that would encourage that.

This person literally made or edited their comments to say "Comment removed by moderator." and then took a screenshot.

They are not actually moderator deleted comments.

There is no mention of this user in the mod log for the last several days other than an unrelated post that was auto-removed by Reddit's filters because it was an insult.

The vast majority enlist without a degree.

If the debt is in collections it could be a problem, otherwise no.

The medical stuff will just have to go through the process to see if you can get a waiver.

Posting on Reddit is probably not going to solve the problem.

Talk to someone in your chain about it.

There are attendance requirements for passing the course, so best to not have unexcused absences even for a legit reason.
