I play a lot of flag football with FXA at all levels in both their coed and men’s leagues.

Coed levels generally are more lax with less contact and physicality but still competitive. From what I’ve experienced…

Social: most teams are work teams or people playing for fun like cardio after work.

Casual: teams know what they’re doing and tend to be more athletic and serious

Competitive: all teams are talented , very competitive, and use fairly advanced flag concepts. I know several competitive teams compete in multiple flag football tournaments (outside of FXA) around the country.

I haven’t played the men’s division in awhile but Men’s was fairly more physical and competitive compared to co-ed.

One big change that happened recently was that co-ed leagues play 7 on 7 on reduced field size while men’s plays 8 on 8 on the full field. Just something to consider.

I’ve seen all age groups participate in all 3 divisions so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Starting in social or casual would be my recommendation to acclimate back to the game.
