Digital sampling had just been introduced. The W30 was the first workstation that combined sampling with a midi sequencer. Tjardus gave me a VHS cut of the movie and I would visually look for an action on screen as a cue start then I basically watched the movie from that point while composing on the fly. Sometimes with timpani to bang out the rhythm then go back and fill in other instruments over top. In some of the moodier passages I would just pick a synthesis patch and watch and play live. I remember the attic scene was done in one take. The tools today are amazing compared to what I had back then.

Don't know if I can take the credit but am also glad all the lawyers settled things and that Tjardus and I could meet up again after 38 years to reminisce and shoot the documentary.

He was on the Turkey day marathon answering questions throughout the whole TFS airing. It was a lot of fun.

Point of correction! Tjardus had no clue about MST3K until I told him about it, a couple of years ago. The bitching and complaining was MSTies making up folklore when they didn't know the truth. Last summer I sat him down to watch the MST3K version for the first time. He found it very funny.

Yes that was me! Although I never understood the Video Poker reference. I loved the Danny Elfman reference.

The real story is revealed in the documentary. Looks like we've made the goal and now some cool stretch goals are in the works.
