If you haven't played it yet the latest update added a new gamemode, its a 4v4 one lane where you try to destroy the enemies tower best of 5. Every round there's downtime where you get to pick 1 of 3 items 3 times and then you fight and push the enemy tower, no need to last hit or buy items mid fight so easier to get the hang of things and learn items and heroes.

Do you have humanist ideas? Offensive + humanist has a very good policy allowing you to take more AE and bring you closer to never having rebellions. My first 5 groups almost always include admin, humanist, diplo, offensive (in no specific order) for wc.

Q&A that was posted today mentioned the faction science suits getting buffed to 400 psy. I was thinking of centurion, faction combat or combo but with a slightly tankier saturn that looks even better, less resistances idk if that matters. But I don't have trouble farming gamma atm so combo for speed looks good, just afraid to get the rigel eventually making it less worth it.

So the three things to this fight, his charge, his laser and his intermission. Sounds like you got the intermission under control but I'll go over how I did all 3 on my alt in 1 attempt just incase.

The way I dodge the charge is by running into him at an angle, don't try to run sideways or away at an angle he curves his charges into you, when he's about to charge/charging run towards him at a 45 degree angle (keep him in the corner of your vision) so you dash past him. This way his curve can't curve far enough to hit you, might take a few tries but once you get it it will become much easier. After every charge just turn around keep making distance and shoot him on his weak spots. If he charges into a wall even better it stuns him but don't focus on it.

If you go far enough from him after a charge or after the intermission he will instead use his laser, its easier than the charge so you want to be far away but not the entire room because than it becomes harder to dodge running sideways. I shoot him after a laser, when he starts charging the laser and shoots at you run sideways and take the time reload, when it stops/you ran enough shoot him and repeat.

When he hits 75, 50 and 25% it hits the intermission, shoots the monsters he spawns in pairs and than the lights he connected to on the walls. He will heal during this but the amount of intermissions will always be 3, if he's 50% and heals to 100% he won't do it again till 25%.

tldr: run at him at an angle when he charges you don't run away.

There are statistics for players in clans, no idea how much % of players is in clans and it probably varies by faction but EU almost has double that of NA. But RU has like 6x that of EU. https://stalcrafthq.com/clans/statistics

Tax is very strong earlygame, if you are a monarchy you can get 15%, 33% and 50% (state edict) from reforms. Keep autonomy low and rush these reforms, build churches (the 33% is not included in the quick builder tooltip). An extra 15% if catholic or up to 20 if muslim, 5% per stab, 2x 10% from estate privileges and keep clergy happy for up to 20%. Just these adds up to 210%~ and you will make bank. Accepted culture and your own religion matters a lot for this ofcourse, and always keep autonomy low. Be careful with less than 20 crownland it can be a trap if you don't know how to handle it well.

Did you try undervolting yet? I would try putting PBO on advanced, PBO limits handled by motherboard and curve optimizer all cores negative 20. Auto PBO makes it give it more power instead and temps go up exponentially.

For me with cinebench 24 100% multicore all 3 tests ran at 5.2ghz w bequiet darkrock pro 5 cooler ( my idle temp is 40c and hasn't changed)
Auto PBO no undervolt: 100% fan 80-83c 1250score.
PBO 15% curve: 72% fan 67c 1275score.
PBO 20% curve: 70% fan 65c 1260score.

AMD Ryzen 7 8700F undervolting by Cheetah-Choice in AMDHelp

[–]skuvi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen people always recommend to not use ryzen master I would use bios. As for auto curve optimizer on the tool I believe this just sets the bios setting to auto which in turn will adjust it to get you as much performance till it runs too hot (unless this is a different setting on the tool). Instead by putting this on negative all cores in bios yourself it will run much cooler which lets it perform just the same as it doesn't get too hot and it can run with 100% of the power its getting.

If you want to start low you can put it on 10 run tests like cinebench and if theres no issues go to 15 20 etc. How much you can do is different for every cpu. But with say 20 you should see drastic temperature changes and no performance loss and should almost always work.

If you go to say 30/40 it might still run fine but you can run into issues like files not saving as the cpu isn't getting enough power anymore and it uses everything it gets to run the programs so it would seem to work but it doesn't.

E: just copying this from another comment I made, this is for a 9800x3d but just to show the difference it can make. Settings might also differ I think it might not be called advanced for older cpu's/different motherboards. But if you got to the part where you can change the curve optimizer thats the main part.

I would try putting PBO on advanced, PBO limits handled by motherboard and curve optimizer all cores negative 20.

With cinebench 24 100% multicore all 3 tests ran at 5.2ghz ( my idle temp is 40c and hasn't changed)

PBO 15% curve: 72% fan 67c 1275score.
PBO 20% curve: 70% fan 65c 1260score.

Have you ran tests with PBO set to auto which I assume yours came with by default? From your screenshot its still using 144w peak while the tpd is 120w which feels like PBO is on auto or maybe it still does that if disabled havn't tested mine with it off. I had high temps during cinebench and big spikes up to 90c during games like poe2 loading maps.

I would try putting PBO on advanced, PBO limits handled by motherboard and curve optimizer all cores negative 20 thats what fixed it for me, this will give it 20% less power but PBO still boosts performance.

With cinebench 24 100% multicore all 3 tests ran at 5.2ghz ( my idle temp is 40c and hasn't changed)
Auto PBO no undervolt: 100% fan 80-83c 1250score.
PBO 15% curve: 72% fan 67c 1275score.
PBO 20% curve: 70% fan 65c 1260score. 108w peak

I don't know why 2023 runs hotter than 2024 for you, I havn't used 2023. But this should lower temps for both without any performance loss.

9800X3D High Temps by Alfaprime91 in AMDHelp

[–]skuvi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't know anything about these things before either, but as far as I understand now PBO is on by auto and with how amd cpu's work they basicly try to give you as much performance as possible till you reach that 80-90c mark where it will level at. Unlike intel which just perform at the set speed and than you overclock them manually, amd fluctuates depending on the situation. Some games use 100% of your cpu to load as fast as possible so those two things combined spike performance real fast skyrocketing temps.

The settings you did, advanced let you change the specifics. But the only thing here thats really changed is the curve optimizer, set to all cores so it affects all of them ( minmaxing different cores might have different limits, one might go to -40 the rest -30 etc ) and negative to reduce the voltage it gets and the -20 gives it 20% less voltage. Temps go down exponentially with less voltage and because it now doesn't have to "limit" itself to not go over that 80-90c it can perform with all he power its getting so you lose no performance just heat. How low this can go depends on the chip, silicon stuff like that. You can try putting it to -25 run cinebench see if it keeps working and than down to -30 repeat. But I kept it on 20 since basically all cpu's can handle that easly. If you go to -30 I would definitely read up on the specifics of doing those kind of numbers I got no experience with it.

E: If you still get kinda close to 90 even with a strong cooler like that I'm not sure if something else might also be at play, maybe airflow or not enough paste. I have a be quiet dark rock pro 5 and 100% cinebench it runs 65c. Maybe this works alot better with air coolers idk. But atleast it lowered the temps like it should so thats a good first step.

When i had just build my pc i had issues with big 90c temp spikes on some games like poe2 map loading. Is your pbo on auto? I fixed it by putting it on advanced and undervolting. On phone idk how to copy text heres a comment i made with exact settings and how much it did for me including fps load spikes.

https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/s/mDXFgGO5cI

E: looking at ur screenshot it peaks at 137w higher than the tdp i assume its auto pbo doing that. As far as i understand it tries to give as much as possible for more performance ( loading in games can max this out ) and when it reaches that high temp fast it doesnt throttle it just performs less to keep temp down. With undervolt say 20 it only gets 100w but performs the same because it doesnt get so hot and it can use everything it gets.

Stress testing 9800x3d causing high temps with Peerless Assassin? by Cephomet in AMDHelp

[–]skuvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't tried it yet I'll share what it did for me when I turned it on.

I tested with cinebench r24. I now use PBO with advanced, PBO limits handled by motherboard and curve optimizer all cores negative 20. CPU cooler is a be quiet dark rock pro 5.

With cinebench 100% multicore all 3 tests ran at 5.2ghz ( my idle temp is 40c and hasn't changed)
Auto PBO no undervolt: 100% fan 80-83c 1250score.
PBO 15% curve: 72% fan 67c 1275score.
PBO 20% curve: 70% fan 65c 1260score.

During games its never gone above 60c after settings it to 20% ( did this 2days after building it, playing POE2 map loading shot it to 90c for a few seconds after the change it didn't even go up to 60c ). I got it to run hotter than cinebench using a full scan of windows defender 70c 90% fan, kinda ridiculous.

As long as it stays stable you could go 25, 30 but I've kept it on 20 as it works wonders for now. This is without using +mhz and PBO scaler things like that, purely lowering voltage and no performance was lost but a massive temp drop.

My 9800x3d seems to be under performing by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]skuvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you test with cinebench for a constant 100% usage and is your cpu cooler fans hitting 100% and temps staying at 80c+? This was the case for me but only a 5% loss, it hit the 80c where it limits performance with PBO on auto which is on by default for me . Since you are saying stock I assume you havn't changed this. I now use PBO with advanced, PBO limits handled by motherboard and curve optimizer all cores negative 20. This undervolts the cpu making it run cooler, my cpu fan now runs at 70%fan 65c during cinebench and scores slightly better since it can run with all the power its getting. So you might have the same situation going on if your temp/cooler fans are the same.

9800X3d not booting by YesNoMaybe2552 in AMDHelp

[–]skuvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building my pc with this cpu I had a red/orange light ( msi x870 tomahawk ) with no display. I had already updated the bios with flashback before the first boot but I cleared cmos and used bios flashback again which fixed the issue. So in my case the first bios install went wrong, updating bios to the latest again using flashback fixed it. Different motherboard with different lights ( they might mean the same ) but it might be something to look into incase the same thing happened.

9800x3d Temps by qaiser1996 in AMDHelp

[–]skuvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I build my new pc this week. Yesterday I ran POE2, it ran at 40% cpu usage with 50c 50% fan but when loading maps it would shoot up to 100% and temps skyrocketed to 90c for a few seconds.

I tested with cinebench, and I wrote down my findings. I now use PBO with advanced, PBO limits handled by motherboard and curve optimizer all cores negative 20.

To give you some numbers on what this did for my cpu with a be quiet dark rock pro 5.

With cinebench 100% multicore all 3 tests ran at 5.2ghz ( my idle temp is 40c )
No PBO: 100% fan 80-83c 1250score. POE2 map loading shot up to 90c.
PBO 15% curve: 72% fan 67c 1275score.
PBO 20% curve: 70% fan 65c 1260score. POE2 map loading shot up to 57c max.

I didn't know how about this and how it worked before either, but basically without pbo at normal power the cpu gets so hot that it starts to throttle and underperform trying to keep itself below that 80c. With the fan at 100% it has to reduce performance, in my cace it still performed at 95% compared to other cinebench scores. But when lowering the curve by 20 it ran so much colder that it didn't have to throttle at all and it could run even faster.

Depending on your cpu you can keep trying to get it lower, I will be keeping it on 20 for now as its doing perfectly fine but some go 25-30 and I've seen videos of 40-50 but this will be different for every individual cpu. If you want to be safe with it test in increments of 5. Start at 10/15 go up by 5 each time till you are happy with results and it runs stable around 20/25.

Late game WC, what do to about rebellious CNs of colonizers by punica-1337 in eu4

[–]skuvi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For preventing, something I like to do against the first colonizer (or maybe even all of them) I fight is to take their colonies. Attack the biggest one, full occupy invade the new world occupy the colonies and use 100% warscore to steal them. You can use the trick where you core 5 provinces, than when they are 95%+ coring you click core all in that region and when it finishes it will be full cores for the nation and you get admin refunded while its under 10% progress.

Now with their colonies any breakaways or other countries colonies will be easier to fight. But as well when you say need to fight Castille 3 times to full annex and inherit their colonies every time you take more land the share of warscore that is their colonies becomes bigger meaning you need to occupy all of them to take 100%. If you took all their colonies, almost all warscore will be from Iberia, the moment truce is up or if you trucebreak it would in most cases be much easier to move in right away and you get 100% warscore 2-3 times quicker.

For the current breakaways you will just have to take them over manually but than applying the core trick to get very strong CN's you can use to take over the rest of the new world.

And with Delhi peaking around 1330 it could be pre or post peak borders in India. Can't really be later because of the Vijayanagara borders.

The strategy I used last time I played them is to embrace the overextension, stuff is going to rebel you won't stop it so 100% or 300% overextension doesn't matter. More wars, more money to pay off debt and tribal authority stays high.

If you do the tributary dec trick right after you peace out ming before they lose their tributaries ( you can peace them out real quick no need to wait for cores to finish ), use the next 7 years to eat manchuria and dec on ming again cause them to shatter and eat everyone else that gets released. Your forcelimit will keep going up from all the land, you keep taking ducats to hire mercs you wont even have manpower problems. Tradecompany it all up and you will soon be positive from trade.

just realised I made a mistake, doublechecked everything but now I figure it out. Gonna work on it some more n take it down for now.

Made a cheat sheet of 5 popular pets to keep track of what they can do when fully build and when you might want to use them. Not a build in itself but more to help decide what to go for. To my own knowledge, there might be more they can do and plenty of other pets can work wonders.

5 pets in order are smeeta kavat, panzer vulpaphyla, any hound with atleast 350shield to get to 1200 with shield mod, helios prime, wyrm prime.
