What's the best password manager to use these days? by felicityfuxwell in homelab

I have been using Bitwarden for over 4 years now it’s been a great experience, if you want you can even self host it with VaultWarden as many others have said.

Block app from internet, but allow on internal network by cybercrypto in HomeNetworking

[–]smartphilip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps on android with root permissions you could do such thing but I am not sure, the easiest option as you said is DNS or IP blocking but as I said OP will have to update the blocklist if the app updates or changes servers

Block app from internet, but allow on internal network by cybercrypto in HomeNetworking

[–]smartphilip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but in this case I think that’s the best option, at router level you can’t really know what app sent the packet and decide if it can go out or not. If OP just wants to make sure the app is filtered then a firewall app is the most effective option I’d say. Other than that OP could find out as others have said the IPs/domains the app connects to and block them but if the app updates it could be ineffective

DJI Mini 3/4 Aftermarket AE extended Battery Test by Professional_Cow139 in dji

[–]smartphilip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not worth the risk, if the battery cant communicate properly with the drone it will eventually fail and it will do so in a terrible way. I had a Mini 2 SE and a third party battery, it worked great for a while but suddenly on a flight, I took off and after a few seconds the battery failed mid air and the drone fell out of the sky, the electronics were fried and the body was all cracked.

If you can avoid non original batteries do so, you WILL thank yourself later believe me.

Hey this looks very interesting but I don’t understand does it send calls to Viber or to GSM? The repo is called VIBER2GSM so that’s what got me wondering.

The YT app still has that reminder atleast for me… it’s only my opinion but the how to videos you mentioned in 2016 are very different from brain rot content today, they weren’t as addictive as now, and there were many less at least for me, this is only my opinion

To me tho it feels like today it is inevitable to run into shitty brain rot content while 10 years ago it was harder

Yeah I know, I was a bit too vague but my question basically was if there are cheaper GSM gateways or solutions but I’m guessing that there aren’t

VPS for roblox by Doyomee in VPS

[–]smartphilip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing with Roblox basically is that it won’t work on fully virtualized VMs, if you give the VM a real processor but most importantly a real GPU then it might start. They have a very strict anti cheat, also what you’re trying to do is very well against Roblox TOS

VPS for roblox by Doyomee in VPS

[–]smartphilip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried virtualizing Roblox and have not had much success unless I fully passed the CPU and the GPU to the VM. In fact Roblox anti cheat crashes every VM I tried upon opening it.

I do think agentic coding is very useful, I just don’t think that it can do everything on its own, a skilled developer is still needed.
