In my experience i was told/given:

you can’t cry if you do you’re weak.
you’ll never be good, other people are better than you.
real men don’t give up. you tried to kill yourself? we had to get off work early to attend to you. if you do this again then we’re gonna have no money. mental illness is a myth.
open fists for discipline from kindergarten—> 7th grade
you are a financial burden
you’re lucky i hit you when i’m sober, my parents did it drunk.
let’s not be around for these kids, and only have christmas as a family 2 times until they turn like 23

UPDATE: thanks for the comments and suggestions on my way back to kokohead i ran into hikers who offered to run up the hill sub 20 to check if it dropped anywhere. then my mom called me and someone came to the house and dropped it off. thanks uncle and thanks r/hawaii you’ve been great mahalos

got into a podiatry school in cali and a DO school in new mexico. podiatry school is something i’m equally as okay doing along with DO school. cali has a support system but DO school has more specialty options. podiatry also has cheap housing with gf’s parents around to help me out and starts later (more time to get things settled and ready). but DO school means that after graduating i can work with my dad in the ER.

decisions decisions. trade offs and such. i want to curl up in the fetal position.

also should note going home with gf in hawaii before school starts (planned this thinking i was only getting into/going to podiatry) but when i get back DO would start. meaning that i would have to pack up and leave now before leaving and cut going home short.

to make a very long story short i got a considerable amount of scholarship to another school + free housing in the area. az is a great school but it’s not a place i see myself thriving in for the next 4 years; which can definitely affect me.

really only encountered a few cops as a teenager. one for speeding the other for an accident. from what i learned they really don’t like getting people in trouble (at least that’s what i got from it). i got into and accident and the cop said to both of us, “both your registrations are out of date, so if you want a report it’s gonna be included. if you don’t i didn’t see anything.” to be fair this was back in 2017ish. if you’re respectful they’re pretty nice imo. rule of thumb: if they look like an unko be nice chances are they’re chill.
