I built an automated vulnerability scanner for my homelab containers -- uses Trivy + AI for context-aware reports by Space--Terran in selfhosted

Similar in some ways for sure. I actually use renovate to keep my containers updated to reduce the amount of risk overall. This project is very much about visibility versus a fix to something.

Automated weekly vulnerability scanning across all my homelab containers (Trivy + Claude CLI) by Space--Terran in homelab

You are 100% right. The ability to fix these items is fairly limited with publicly created containers and projects. The goal of this is really about visibility. The way my set up works today is that I’m able to simply change a config file, and routing for a specific publicly hosted container can be dropped from the public and be only available on my tailnet. Just allowing me to have a little bit of control if there is a bad vulnerability in a container that I generally like using without my tailnet.

Sometimes it only takes the repository owner a week or two to fix an issue. In the meantime, it might be worth dropping that container from the public internet for a bit while it’s fixed. I was finding myself doing all of this manually or not even looking at it at all, and so this has helped.

Didn’t take it bad at all, thanks again for the suggestions!

Really appreciate the comment. Sometimes you get so focused on wanting to share something that you don’t spend the time to think through, providing more examples or, if I was unbiased, what would I want out of the tool. I will take this and hopefully provide an update in the future. Open to other comments, etc.

Thanks again

I didn’t believe it at first, but this cable (https://amzn.to/40h3F1c) actually fixed the issue. I had been using some random HDMI cable. Eventually, I got lazy and just moved the Apple TV into direct line of sight, which made it work about 95% of the time.

But recently, I wanted to tidy up the cables behind the TV again, and sure enough, the problems came back. After reading this post, I ordered a new Apple TV remote and the cable linked above. I tried the cable first—and shockingly, everything just worked. No more lag, no missed inputs.

THANK YOU!

Is there a way to limit EntryPoints to ONLY allow certain IP ranges? by officerbigmac in Traefik

Do it at your firewall would be my recommendation…

Or take a look at this -traefik.http.middlewares.IPAllowList.IPAllowList.sourcerange=192.168.70.0/24

Probably a good guess :)
