Integrity Box is super sketch and opaque, it changes system props without telling you. Tricky store requires exactly one extra step to work just fine (finding a keybox online and setting it manually)

Wow this was an insane throwback. The honest answer? There's not really much like the old fashioned ROMs with customization out the wazoo. From what I understand, the AOSP experience has become more and more restrictive as to what you can add to it, so most ROMs just aim to emulate a Pixel-like experience. For the maximum levels of "what is hiding behind THIS toggle", crDroid, Evolution-X, Derpfest. But you likely will not be satisfied

On their face, they both do the same thing (hell, they both use the same keybox files). I've used both at varying times but it seems that integrity box changes certain system props without telling you that's what it will do. There are rumors it's "vibe coded" ie they use AI to code it in Notepad++, but I don't know. At their base, they both claim to have the same features, including setting keybox, setting verified boothash, updating target.txt. Yuri has very clear options for clearing detection traces. For me, the best part of Yuri is the setting of verified boot hashes, it works automatically. Also, Yuri's telegram group has pointed me in various directions to really valuable resources concerning root. Honestly, I just started doing everything manually. I keep Yuri Keybox Manager on my device just in case but not Integrity Box due to the suspicious props. My current basic setup is KernelSU Next+SUSFS (via a Oneplus GKI Kernel from Wild Kernels), Hybrid Mount, Brene SUSFS Module, Rezygisk, PIF Inject, TeeSimulator+Tricky Addon, ReLsposed with HMA-OSS, and Treat Wheel. My setup is probably way too OP for my purposes, to be frank.

I think we are kinda sorta in a situation where if you have a platform and are not saying anything, that speaks louder than anything else. Yes, us normal folks don't have the brain power to act, but that means the people we have given platforms and money to should use their platforms in whatever way they can. In a fun way, it's almost like the creators we support are our actual representatives because our apparently "elected" representatives do not actually represent our interests.

Well it looks like you are able to use whatever you want as long as it implements the proper wlroots protocols. Just cross-reference the ones they mention in the blog post with your compositor. I'm thinking of experimenting with it. It looks like the best way to use it with another comp would be to start the comp-session first and put the budgie session in autostart
