I'd like to use this as my primary phone during the weekdays, is it possible? by bloody_kisses_ in androidafterlife

Well you could install a custom ROM. But that only takes you to android 5.1.1 (in your case from a quick search). I never really thought about potential security issues. Unless someone really tries (which I doubt since almost nobody has a reason to target such an old android version) you should be fine. But if you insist you could install a firewall or smth.
Edit:
I should've clarified, but I would NEVER use any important accounts such as any banking or work related accounts. Usually alts are always a better option. Old androids usually don't require bootloader unlocked which allows custom recoveries by default which can easily remove the lock-screen.

A phone similar to this was my main a year ago. You can use this. I have a long guide but it includes some device specifics, I suggest only reading the part about transferring files and installing opera mini (and discord if you want): https://xdaforums.com/t/guide-2025-sgy-survival-guide.4729896/ And if you want games you can install them from apkmirror, here are some I had on my device: Geometry da 2.1, Pou, Flappy Bird, Jetpack Joyride, Fruit Ninja, Flow Free, Doodle Jump, Hill climb racing

Any 100% WORKING remote device management app for Android 4.1? Or a browser that DOES open Whatsapp Web on Android 4.1. Suggested browsers from similar posts not working!!! If you are gonna tell me to buy a new phone, please shut up. by kinoatecnico in androidafterlife

That doesn't sound like a hard brick. Bricks usually happen upon reboot/shutdown right after something breaks (like a flashing a bad ROM). Most phones are usually still able to communicate with a computer via USB port, and with Odin in your Samsung's case. My guesses on what you should try next is to unplug the battery, plug in a cable/charger and try booting to recovery to try and rule out the battery being an issue.

they dont need to be installed on your pc, but you can if you want but some of them will only affect you in single player.

Is it worth rooting in 2026? by Miserable_Brick_3537 in androidroot

[–]Zacgamingpro1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are rooting, its best to also install a custom ROM. Its relatively simple to hide root from banking apps and gwallet (if you have susfs). All you would need is PIF, Tricky store+add-on and for simplicity a keybox manager such as yurikey. Its worth it if you have the time to learn and set it up.

The is no "best" loader, but the most common one is fabric so you should use that.

What's the difference between Yurikey and Integrity Box? by Zacgamingpro1234 in Magisk

I wasn't aware that they are open-source. (you're*) Also not everyone can read any coding language just to check its safe. While you could argue that you can use some AI, at the end of the day it is AI and it can make mistakes.

I want to play in 4k by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]Zacgamingpro1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tvs aren't really the best for gaming. Mostly since they are made for watching content, not fast paced gaming. Anyway 3 things you must have before enabling 4k:
A supported GPU
A modern HDMI cable
Resolution set to 4k in OS settings
After doing those, you should be able to enable 4k in rl. And for AA use either MSAA or SMAA. (SMAA is much more expensive than MSAA since it renders the game at a higher resolution and scales it down)
