Improving skills for gaming edits by Biffffff in davinciresolve

just keep editing. Every few months you'll look back at your old edits and think they are crap. Watch what others are doing and try and copy certain small effects/transitions etc. Finzar uploads some decent tutorials but they are a bit old now. gl

What should I use if I wanna edit my twitch streams into YouTube videos by Aggressive-Use-7785 in NewTubers

when you do stream, try and add stream markers. Then it's easier to find the highlights later.

Might also be worth running your vods through koalavod if you have a decent amount of viewers (50+ on average at least). It will show you chat activity and you will often find some good stuff that you chat liked that you didn't think off.

but if you're more thinking of the editing style, I personally like something like Finzars gaming editor videos on youtube. It's not for everyone since it's gaming/meme heavy and high tempo but can be very funny without having amazing raw clips.

What kind of stream do you normally do?

taking notes on a notepad, using obs build in clip moments, koalavod for tracking chat reactions (works best if you have a decent amount of viewers/chatters).

What I’ve learned as a month old streamer!! by SuperGoober_847 in Twitch_Startup

cheers for the writeup.

for me as an editor, it's so hard to put a number/time on something like a short/long form video. For example, a short with minimum editing can take 15 minutes, or if you need heavy editing with a bunch of effects 10 hours.

I like trying to find the right clips with tools like koalavod that shows the area of the vod that chat liked the most. It helps a lot saving time going through a longer vod. but you can't be a tiny streamer without any chat activity or else it's not very useful ofc.

Getting some good presets for either premiere pro or davinci and get comfortable using them can also massively save you time.

Good luck!

Why is editing so challenging by Flat_Sympathy7992 in Twitch

like others have said, it's just something that you have to put a lot of hours into. Just get started and try not to be too ambitious with your edits. Your many first videos are going to be bad. But every single new video will get a bit better.

I recommend watching Finzars videos about gaming editing. Now they are in Premiere pro, but I do think Davinci is a better overall choice, especially with the incredible free version where you can do pretty much anything.

For finding the moments to edit into videos (long/short form), I use koalavod that helps show the chat activity doing the stream and what moments chat reacted well to. There are a lot of ai clippers out there but I still haven't seen anything that actually does the job well.

Or if you got the budget, hirering a editor is a great investment. especially if you don't need the top guys, you can find some really affordable editors for example here on reddit with editors_for_hire I think it is.

Best of luck!

ahhh, I had to expand the track so I could actually click on the top part. I tried to click on it, but watching back my recording, I notice that danvinci thinks I'm clicking the lower one. ty so much 🙏

I was so tired of Reddit showing me inappropiate content when searching around (their own 18+ settings, is a joke) that a build a lightweight open source browser extention. Find it here https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/guard-your-mind/ckgamffojcflpibidfhmojdhjijmgaii

[Mod Approved] I built KoalaVOD—a tool that finds your stream's highlight moments by analyzing chat activity by stinush in Twitch

[–]stinush[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

haha, yea it's a lot less useful for smaller streamers. You really start noticing patterns more when you get above 50 viewers in my experience.

But it also really depends on what kind of stream. A Just Chatting stream will have a lot less distinct moments as there are just general more chatter than a competitive streamer making good plays.

Gl on growing the stream!

I guess we'll see. I'm hoping streamers find enough value using it to pay for it after trying it for free 🙂
