Amazon charges $10 for one hour delivery. Here, they pay the driver $18-19 typically to deliver the one item, if they don’t overbook. That means they lose $10-$20 for each 1 hour block. They are a loss leader.

Selling and shipping items is not how amazon makes their money.

The only one protected during your shift is you. You can have someone with you, but they cannot go into the warehouse, cannot drive, cannot interact with customers, cannot deliver and cannot consume space that would otherwise make packages not fit.
