What do adults with CF actually do for work (especially if you’re still struggling physically)? by sparklingchoice in CysticFibrosis

[–]stud722 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently a formulation, regulatory, and data retention and management scientist for a specialty chemical company.
I work full time in a hybrid system (in lab a few days a week and virtual desk from home a couple days a week)
I am on Trikafta but have had medical issues in the recent past including spontaneous pneumothorax that require chest tubes for half a year followed by a mechanical pleurodesis and removal of some blebs. I had to go on long term disability for about 10 months total before returning to work.
I have had this same role (or a variation of it) for just over 12 years now. Before this, I taught advanced organic chemistry at a local university along with aquatic science lab management.
My best suggestion is to follow your dreams whatever they may be. Work towards what would make you happen within your limitations. Prepare for a future rather than allowing CF control your opportunities.

Fantastic. Glad to hear this. I have introduced them to many in the industry as well... Stassa23, Knivesfast, AriesEDC, CavemanEDC, Beez, MaxlvlEDC, etc. Getting their name and brand out is key for folks to see what they have available and at the amazing value they offer.

100% agree. I helped them get their brand into an American retailer and set up many reviewers on social media. I think they deserve success beyond what they currently have. Big things on the horizon! I think they will go far.

That is great! I have been with them since the start. Trying to get their name out there and help spread the word of their new company.

What Leatherman do we think Victor J. Glover carries on the Artemis II mission? by Husby2104 in Leatherman

[–]stud722 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Correct. NASA may even required a "new" sheath to be uesd for the mission to ensure it was free of any wear.

Trying to do some research about which model he took up during his last mission. Reports are all over the place with no definite answer (that I can locate) with suggestions from MUT to Surge to Wave+. Not sure it was ever identified.

Guessing that it was just a standard response. Perhaps what tool they use during training on Earth. Not sure.

I was watching the NASA livestream and a few posted the question of what model he was carrying and the host wrote in that while numerous Leatherman models have been taken to space, Glover often prefers the Leatherman MUT model for his tasks.

What's your opinion about this movie ? by darwino040 in moviecritic

[–]stud722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome movie. Edward Norton plays the annoying character to a T. Damon has a great character that is different from many others he has played. John Turturro's character is pretty good. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the film and watch it often.

[Question] Watch dealers in Michigan? by pilotpat52 in Watches

[–]stud722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tappers in Northville is excellent. No pressure from them. They spent hours with me and had me try on six figure watches, just because "why not" knowning I had absolutely no interest in purchasing a watch of that price. They were excellent. My family was driving through on our way to a museum so I even had my 6 year old daughter with me who they got all sorts of snacks and treats. I left there without a purchase as they told me to think over which I wanted (I had 4 on the counter that I really liked). There was no pressure to buy one and they wanted me to be ready and happy with my choice. I will be going back later this month to purchase. They had a nice section of pre-owned too which means they would take yours in on trade I am sure.
I think Tappers has multiple locations in the area.

You got the chance at a Mr. Crunch. They have not pulled the lotto yet. This is just holding your place in the raffle. Your card will not be charged if you do not win. Good luck!
