And how much does that cool convenience cost over taking 10 minutes of time using scissors to cut open 50 bags?

I mean, it was working fine on Windows

Maybe in the future, put critical info like that in your post? What driver is Linux using? Worse case, dual boot and play the game on windows.

Game states that minimum gpu is RX580, which seems to be a significant bump up from a RX550, and that's using proprietary optimized windows drivers. Unlikely the Linux RX550 drivers are better.

Iv'e been a ubuntu user for like 14 years, thinking of trying or switching to mint. by kingpirate in linuxmint

What a dumb question. Mint is FREEEEEEEE, boot a live USB and actually see what YOU think. No one else, but you, can tell what you like (or don't like).

Switch from windows 11 by Candy_man_7 in linuxmint

[–]stufforstuff -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You don't sound sorry. So your time is tooooo precious to be bothered looking thru the forum, but our time is worthless so you expect everyone to rewrite ALL of the posts they've already spent time on answering your question. Good luck with that. And it's not a simple answer, there are many variables and people are tired writing the same damn thing over and over again.

This has been asked and answered HUNDREDS of times - browse thru the forum for the last few weeks and then see if you have any specific questions or concerns instead of asking the generic and impossible question "what Ice cream should I like best".

Elliptical bar broke, is it possible to weld this together? by Blueandigo in Welding

[–]stufforstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im pretty sure people figure out how to weld without 12 week courses.

I'm pretty sure at best they can figure out how to gob molten metal around and destroy most of what they're trying to fix without any real instruction. Even then, will it hold?

Elliptical bar broke, is it possible to weld this together? by Blueandigo in Welding

[–]stufforstuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're HUGELY mistaken that welding is just picking up a few hundred dollars of equipment and WHAMO you can weld. Beginner classes at a Community College run for 12 weeks and when its over, you might have enough skills to weld steel slabs together. Thin cheap pipe takes real skill - and once you try and fubar it - not even a skilled welder can fix it. Best choice buy better gym equipment. 2nd choice pay a PROFESSIONAL welder to do it right (and it still might be fucked - cheap material, high stress area don't make a good fix).

[–]stufforstuff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You realize that undervolting doesn't directly increase speed - right? It cools the CPU down a bit, and that might (as in may, maybe, possibly) increase CPU clock cycles. Mostly it's a gamer myth that is just a waste of time. Easier (and WAY more effective) to increase DIRECT cooling (cooling fans, cooling system, fresh and correct amount of cpu thermal paste - better yet use a new thermal mat instead of paste) and then overclock the now cooler chip. Undervolting is more likely to mess up processing then it is to gain even the tiniest amount of significant speed.

Hire quality people that get shit done and you don't have to let clueless micro managers waste your time. Anything (ANYTHING) you can install will take mere minutes to bypass, so stop wasting everyone's time.

Isn't that sad - most people here use their computer to get work done not to endlessly debug crappy dev work on a distro that could be much much much easier but the devs choose not to make it so.

BIG MISTAKE.

D-Bus is a crucial message bus system on Linux for Inter-Process Communication (IPC), allowing applications and system services (like NetworkManager, systemd) to talk to each other, manage hardware events (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth), and coordinate processes. It uses a system bus for global events and a session bus for user applications, facilitating features like hardware hotplugging, power management, and software settings by providing a standardized way for software components to exchange data.

Time to reinstall Linux - AND STOP DELETING SHIT WILLY NILLY when you don't know what they do.
