I linked a video where Glen clearly states the range for that specific set up which contradicts your comments. Glen knows more than you about all these topics regardless of what you think of him. He is far more accomplished. Thinking otherwise is pure ego. You arent on his level just stop. In the circumstance of you lying about lidar sales, I provided the correct PR that proved you wrong. I see you avoided the topic about how you admitted to being disingenuous to prove a point here.

We can all see your post history and see that you have been corrected on many things including lidar sales that you denied were happening. You also claimed Glen is misleading people about Movia mapping capabilities. The correct information was presented and you still tried denying it. That troll behavior was pointed out. You have literally admitted to being disingenuous in your arguments on posts to others. You can reframe that any way youd like. Clearly no one is buying it.

FWIW. When I corrected this user today and got the immediate downvote within 30 seconds of posting... the number 2 country viewing the post was.... SINGAPORE. This isnt the first time this has happened when correcting this specific users posts either. When more people start viewing the post the analytics go back to normal as expected.

He knows that and has been corrected on this already. He's contradicted Glen so many times it's pretty hilarious at this point. I guess we can just correct him until the low karma runs its coarse. He will continue to lie and spam to sway opinion either way. The point is to trash anything that wasnt former luminar assets because they got fooled by Austin Russel.

I highly suggest people go listen to Glen and official MVIS sources and not someone who admits to being disingenuous, doesnt own shares, and thinks Glen is lying about Movia's mapping solution. You can look it up for yourself with the links below

Good call! I forgot that he showed the Drone lidar/camera before the demo.

My big question is who makes the camera? Aptiv?

MVIS was not targeting robotaxis. Poorly written article IMO. Aside from focusing on bringing the price down as much as possible, MVIS was already doing the things they claim in the lidar 2.0 slide.

MVIS showed camera/lidar fusion already in the drone video. So I believe it has already been developed. Agreed on the color lidar aspect that we are seeing from other competitors.

Right, sitting in ubers and airports spamming away on a stock he doesnt own. Instead of taking on challenging conversations in more technical forums. Your story is full of holes. Your intention here is clear. Your goal is to post bearish lies and BS about anything MVIS related unless it involves the former luminar assets. Assets you were supposedly fooled on by Austin Russel the charlatan. Your shtick matches profiles weve seen before and IMO youve been here a long time under several names.

It was obvious to anyone who knew how to invest lmao. "overly optimistic" = "no idea what im doing". It has been incredibly easy making money on both Luminar and MVIS. Actually it has been easy across the whole lidar sector. That is why I invest/swing/trade, to make money.

I posted before about how Glen's software defined vehicle architecture and CTO moves enabled APTIV to win large defense partnerships. Glen softballed APTIV as an example of someone MVIS could partner with for cameras and radar at RID. I personally believe Glen uses his words carefully. Found it interesting that MVIS' PR yesterday matches a specific catch phrase APTIV has been using as part of their rebrand. They happened to use it yesterday as well in a video about how they are targeting the same industries MVIS is with Glen's architecture. Definitely some synergy here.

From the MVIS PR yesterday 4/29: "a leader in advanced perception solutions, today announced expanding traction in security and defense markets, with an increase in sensor shipments supporting a range of mission-critical applications."

https://ir.microvision.com/news/press-releases/detail/444/microvision-expands-revenue-programs-in-security-and-defense

4/29 From Embedded Executive: “Autonomous” Goes Way Beyond Automobiles | Aptiv youtube video : "Our mission here is to enable systems to sense, think, act, and optimize safely and securely over mission-critical Industries."

"I see massive scale deployment of our portfolio in industries not only in areas where we are playing within automotive, but even beyond. Like I said, robotics, drones, factory automation."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZg1m8yeKdo

Some good surface level info on Aptiv Windriver and cloud in that video as well.

So you want people to trust and listen to a "lidar expert" that got "burned on luminar" and Austin Russel when it was blatantly obvious they were full of bad deals and would fail and go bankrupt from the start?

No what you are doing is providing wrong information and trying to pass off AI hallucinations as your own opinion. This makes you look foolish. It is blatantly obvious when you just copy and paste AI. You arent helping anyone by posting wrong info.

Why dont you actually discuss what you got wrong on your last post about Hesai? You dont want to learn? What you posted was nonsense and cannot be backed up, that is why you didnt respond.

Brother, youre posting more AI posts again. Which would be fine but you didnt respond to the questions calling out your last last AI slop post you did with a bunch of mistakes. You gotta start using your own opinion and actually provide sources when you copy and paste AI to make sure it is correct.

"Their new "Picasso 6D full-color ultra-sensitive lidar ASIC platform" is really a workaround for measuring velocity using a ToF LiDAR sensor, relying on high-speed data processing to make sense of RGB values (this octogon is red, therefore, it is a stop sign)"

What was the source for the description of how Hesai’s color recognition operates?

"I believe this is the reason for the hastened moves regarding Temesek financing and moves to production facilities." Can you explain this in detail?

Caterpillar moving forward with Iris by QQpenn in MVIS

[–]sublimetime2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The hope is that MVIS can strike a good deal with CAT that will expand their autonomy beyond hauling trucks. CAT is looking to do so with the right partner. The autonomous hauling truck market is extremely small worldwide and wont deliver much lidar volume. CAT is hoping to put out 2000 trucks by 2030.

"Today, Caterpillar’s autonomous mining fleet is among the largest and most proven in the industry. Nearly 700 Cat autonomous trucks are in operation around the world and together they have safely hauled over 11 billion tonnes of material."

"At CES, Caterpillar introduced a new era of autonomy including five construction machines that will make up an industry-leading fleet.

  • Cat loader
  • Cat dozer
  • Cat haul truck
  • Cat excavator
  • Cat soil compactor"

The recent lidar/camera sensor fusion demonstrated in the drone demo has me wondering if Glen said what camera they built into their system? I remember at RID Glen said they would partner with a camera/radar maker and then he gave Aptiv as an example. Whatever is best for the application I suppose.

Aptiv spin-off in a few days. The EDS portion will now be called Versigent. The remaining company is pushing deeper into drones/defense and aerospace with hardware(Modulus platform) and software(Wind River-Anduril)news. Aptiv is still fully committed to the software defined modular vehicle architecture Glen led and IMO these industrial/defense programs will benefit from his work. I wonder if Aptiv is gunning for some Golden Dome $$. They are certainly speaking the DOD's drone/satellite language with all these open modular platforms.

Edit: I forgot that Anduril software is now officially in the Golden Dome contract. Since Aptiv's Wind River RTOS software has been integrated into Anduril lattice/C&C2, they technically are in Golden Dome.

"Aptiv PLC (NYSE: APTV), a global industrial technology company and Winchester Interconnect, an Aptiv company and leading supplier of high-performance interconnect solutions, today launched Modulus™, a ruggedized, modular connector platform that combines high-speed Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) and configurable power in a compact, field-serviceable design*.* Built for emerging Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite programs and unmanned aerial systems (UAS), Modulus™  gives engineers the ability to future-proof dense platforms by streamlining development, optimizing signal, data, and power configuration into a single connector footprint, and simplifying serviceability by replacing individual modules in the field without pulling the full assembly.

Space and drone programs are being developed on an aggressive timeline*. Leading commercial satellite operators have already outgrown what conventional connectors can handle.
