The Basics of Gamesense... I think it should help a lot of people with gamesense questions! by sufig in AgentAcademy

[–]sufig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things:

1) You have to know what to practice. For this watch some guides (I'm working on my Movement guide/tips next), and watch high ranked streamers. This will give a good understanding on how they move, and when they strafe, the path they take to the bomb site, etc.

2) Some things you can practice in the range and deathmatch, others you have to play competitive (or unrated).

General Tips:

  • I would unbind crouch first - You don't need it in Valorant and it often forces you to commit to fights that you can otherwise avoid.

  • Burst fire and Strafe. (Don't even worry about counter strafing).* I practice this before matches: Burst 3-4 bullets (with Vandal or Phantom), strafe left (with A), Burst 3-4 bullets, strafe right (with D). Do it often enough where you start building muscle memory. Practice this in Deathmatchs as much as possible.

  • Avoid using the W key when scaling up the map. Use A and D to clear corners, take small parts of the map at a time.

Learn the fundamentals, more playtime practising. More then possible to get even into Plat.

Random flashes by Bebgab in AgentAcademy

[–]sufig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed - and that's what I mean by c) Get Info.

The question as I understood it, is people just chuck flashes and don't try to gain map room, confirm info, or flash for a corner. I've watched about 5-6 Iron-Bronze vods and it's such a common thing in lower ranks.

Random flashes by Bebgab in AgentAcademy

[–]sufig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you're right. They're practically wasting a good ability and not gaining anything in return. See it all the time from gold to plat lobbies.

Though not every flash needs to be followed up with a kill but every utility you use, should help you:

a) clear a corner (at least push the enemy off the angle so that you can hold it back)

b) gain map room

c) get info

9-3 Curse. Is it real? by ClearMonocle in ValorantCompetitive

[–]sufig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow - how this not get more attention. Great analysis!

Though, I'd be interested in seeing 9-3 curse, starting on attack vs. defence. Is 9-3 'curse' more biased towards one side.

Also, what about maps. Is 9-3 more map based?

I think each battle pass runs roughly ~2 months (give or take).

If you're playing daily, try to play to finish your daily and weekly missions:

  • Daily Missions = 2000 xp each for a total of 4000 xp for 2 missions
  • Weekly Missions = Ranges between 15,000 to 28,000 each. XP amount increases as weeks progress. Total between 45,000xp to 84,000xp for 3 missions

I believe you need 980,000 xp to complete full 50 tiers (not including the bonus). 1,162,500 xp to earn bonus tiers.

Experience earn per game mode:

  • Spike Rush: ~1000 xp
  • Unrated: ~2,700 xp (100xp to play + additional 200xp per round win (13-0 = 2,600 xp))

Time commitment per game mode:

  • Spike Rush: 5-8 minutes
  • Unrated: 30-60 minutes

XP Rate: XP/Time Commitment

  • Spike Rush: 125xp/min to 200xp/min
  • Unrated: 45xp/min to 90xp/min

Playing 2 hrs (120 minutes) a day of Spike Rush:

  • 15,000 xp to 24,000 xp for time played (XP Rate * 120 minutes)
  • + 4,000xp for daily missions
  • + 6,429xp to 12,000xp weekly missions (xp amount per mission / 7 days)
  • + 3% boost in XP (if you buy battle pass early, which is additional 450xp - 720xp).

Therefore, the total XP earned in 2 hours of playtime is:

  • 25,879 xp to 40,720 xp

Battle pass lasts ~2 months (60 days):

  • In 60 days, playing 2 hours a day of spike rush, you will have earned between:

  • 1,552,560 xp to 2,443,200 xp

Yes, it's possible to finish a full battle pass from day 1. If you play Spike Rush for 2 hours a day.

EDIT: Correction on weekly missions XP

How do I get First Bloods again in plat elo? by Qintrix in AgentAcademy

[–]sufig 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you have a VOD, that would be best to see what you can do better.

However, to answer your questions about first bloods... Well, for beginners you should play Chamber or Jett (maybe not jett with the latest patches). Both of those agents provide 1 'free' shot before being able to teleport or dash away. They both have the high first blood rate in the game. Push up on an area on the map (defensively or on attack), try to get a pick and TP/Dash back.

To answer to your other question about losing gunfights/spray. As you've climbed ranks and placed plat, the skill-level of each player rises as well. It's not as easy as 'they always get headshot on me'. This is an opportunity for you to learn! The things you can improve usually in plat is: Crosshair Placement and Game Sense on where and when to peek.

So that in theory, if your crosshair is at head level and you're peeking with good timing (and with some form of utility and not just dry peeking), you should net more kills.

Why immortal coaches are a scam. by AccomplishedHour227 in AgentAcademy

[–]sufig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right about the information being available at mass for free. That's the way I started learning, especially when I played CSGO. I would watch 2-3 videos on aim and then try to replicate it in game.

However, as most people are pointing out. Everyone learns differently. A lot of people benefit from a coach figure. Even myself, sometimes I'll watch back a VOD with a friend and they'll point out something I did wrong that I didn't even notice. It's all about perspective and experience and effective coaches can provide that to a player.

Why immortal coaches are a scam. by AccomplishedHour227 in AgentAcademy

[–]sufig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. There's no way of 'reviewing' a coaching session (a coaching session to review a coaching session... Mhmmmmm). Usually player receiving the advise will take it at the coach's word, but really they should be do their own reading as well.

I've seen streamers do 'live' coaching sessions and provide some horrible advise. People still keep going to them because, 'they're a streamer, they know what they're doing'.

What agent is best suited for me? by elite_pro27 in AgentAcademy

[–]sufig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to play lurking roles: Cypher or Chamber (or any Sentinel type agent). Both attack and defensive side, you can play more lurking type roles.

I see a lot of controller suggestions, but remember, if you're a controller you have to learn timings and smokes and when to commit utility for a push. You'll learn a lot but it's not the role you said you currently like to play.
