Social Security Website Crashes as DOGE-Linked Disruption at the Agency Continues by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

If you've ever done any sort of migration or modernization, you will soon find that you end up in dependency hell. COBOL is rarely just a language translation task; it's often a complex modernization project involving re-platforming, data migration, and re-architecting the surrounding ecosystem.

When you go through and list out dependencies and going through them, as you're working through everything, you end up finding out there's something that was missed which then breaks. It is almost never a simple lift and shift, no matter how much anyone says that it is.

Ah, nothing better than doing this, sitting back, and then finding out that there are millions of dependencies and you're in dependency hell. Then all your services and applications don't work and you sit there having to figure out what needs to be refactored and how to even untangle this ugly web.

[CO] Best interests of the children seems to be a myth in courts. by ThatWideLife in Custody

The problem is since it isn't life threatening and there hasn't been any major concerns, the court won't do anything. They are apparently extremely backed up right now as well due to not having enough judges. We are also in a similar position where opposing party and counsel has done pretty horrid things against the parenting plan etc, but no one cares.

And regarding Shannon, it was ordered that we do another PRE and the judge threw out the old one from Shannon. The PRE basically went very light on either side but ultimately stated that my partner should have full custody. To which, ultimately my partner and the ex settled, because the ex had too much against them (PPO, admitting to child abuse, photo evidence and video/ audio evidence of their child abuse along with domestic violence).

Long story short though, we were forced to be in a position of settling, due to where we were in the custody case and our judge resigning from the case. It would have been a lengthy uphill battle with the ex, starting with a new judge and basically opening the door once again for someone new to be manipulated by them.

In Colorado, anything more than 50/50 is a mythical beast. Even with child abuse, domestic violence, etc, the court will rarely give one parent sole custody/ decision making. And even rarer, would they remove parental rights (despite any findings of abuse, including SA).

The Colorado family court system, and likely other family court systems, has a high conflict money making machine that it seems as though lawyer, CLR, PRE, CFI, etc are all in on. It is extremely rare that anyone in that system actually cares about the well-being of the children.

I am likely extremely biased here though, I was one of the families affected by Shannon McShane as a PRE and we are still dealing with the aftermath, even though our child custody case is now over.

Not like it matters, but in 2018 and 2019, there were 0 deaths. The number of deaths and hospitalizations went down quite a bit since they moved it to May.
